  • This is my favorite version of Schuman's Op. 17. My friend had the record

in the 1960's when I first herd it. I am so happy it is now available on youtube.

    THANK YOU!

  • This is quite remarkable. I don't think I've ever had the experience of not being able to turn off a recording before. I am just discovering Leonard Shure. And once I start listening to a piece I cannot stop. It may be because his vision encompassed the entire work from beginning to end -- it is of a piece. Now I must find everything he recorded!

  • What a treasure - I wondered if I'd ever hear this recording.

if anyone wants help uploading other Leonard Shure recordings, pls email me at intensitymedia AT yahoo DOT com ... thx to all involved in this worthy effort

  • Superb. Thank you.

  • Thank you for uploading this recording of my father's. Do you have others from this generation of recordings? I have many that I want to upload and would love to talk about the process you use for uploading! Regards, Ted Shure

  • @LeonardShure thanks... you can look in my channel, dedicated to the great pianists, and you can write to me if you want ...I thought to upload other records of your father, a pianist who I admire very much ... but if you can upload them, I'd be very happy ...

    best regards

  • @LeonardShure

    Dear Sir,

Today I listened to some performances by your father and I must say he left a strong impression to me.

I recognize a seldom heard personal and deeply felt musicality in his piano Art.

Does there exist any video of your father playing the piano or teaching, please ?

And have you ever consired the possibility of making a CD of for example this fine and very interesting performance of Schumann's Fantasy ?

    Kindest regards,

    Geert Dehoux, pianist (Belgium).
