It is unfortunate that the decoder box limits the amazing quality this headset can achieve but rest assured that, from my experiences with headphones, the AX Pro is stellar when bundled with a high quality sound card. Also, as the Recon3D can connect optical in and out, I can run my PS3 and 360 through it, still. It is unfortunate that the headset & soundcard will run you $260. Still a good headset.

This guy is a fucking idiot you could've gotten the black ops ones which are cheaper and more sturdy then the regular ones. Every cable is braided and does not feel like it will fall apart on you. He also doesn't know how to balance the sound. You can't just take 2 seconds and quickly adjust the sound. These things kick the shit out of Astros, I own both. A40's weigh a stupid amount and they lack directionality. I could tell in which direction someone was coming or moving better with any Tritton headset than the A40's.

I watched this video right before I bought the black ops edition, this review is not accurate. I played a few games and the only con to the headset is the highs(treble) isn't all there, but they sound fuckin great! I'm able to pinpoint where people are walking, the bass is great, take the time to set each channel and you will not be let down!

i have owned every turtle beach headset and tritton headset besides the special edition ones (Call of duty, gears, ect) i have to say trittion ax pros blow every turtle beach and astro headsets and even tritton 720s for 3 reasons

1. 4 speakers in each ear

2. Able to change each speakers loudness

3. Incredible bass

I had the AX 720's and I took them back and got the AX Pros because I wasn't impressed with the surround sound on the AX 720's.. trust me, don't listen to this guy's review... he obviously didn't take the time to set the volume controls perfectly. The AX Pros are an AMAZING headset, but you have to set them up the right way. This is the perfect headset for hearing footsteps in games like COD... it's almost unfair how perfect you can hear where everyone is.

u are a retard. the 40mm is not a subwoofer. its the centre speaker, the very top one is the subwoofer. i also dont understand why you start twisting off one of the ear cups and complain thats its not well built ( it clearly was not designed to be twisted like that), knock on it likes theses someone there and pry it apart when you put it on and take it off when you can easily slide it off of your dumbass head. its a solid headset that is not made to be flexible or flimsy. ur review is invalid.
