It IS true. There is more in the sport that is 'skill' besides scoring a goal. 21 year old kid was one of the THREE players in the NHL nominated for the Selke award last year. (that would be for the best defensive play be a forward, fyi) He is widely considered as the top 3rd-line shut-down centers and one of the best penalty killers in the entire league. And, he doesn't use his body ENOUGH.

Crosby does not dive. If the point was to knock Crosby off his skates, no defenseman would be able to do it. That being said, defenseman often need to put a stick or a free hand on him to slow him down.
