There is a program available called PokeSav that many competitive battlers use. There's a long, complicated answer behind it, but, yeah, no matter how you slice it, there is some hacking involved.

However, many competitive battlers use PokeSav only to get a lot of top-notch 'Mons quickly. The movesets, abilities, and other aspects are held to a legal standard, and people will get mad and ragequit if you try to use an illegal set.

@django777777777777 STAB boosts the BP, or base power, of any move that is the same type as your pokemon by 1.5x. For example, if Arcanine uses fire blast (120 BP) it does the damage of a 180 BP non-STAB move (120 x 1.5 = 180) but if Garchomp uses it, it just does the damage of 120 BP. Thats why many pokemon tend to use STAB moves over other ones, it does more damage on a neutral hit than a coverage option (move used to hit different types than your STAB move) if they are close in base power.
