I'm playing this and Pan for my jury tomorrow. Such beautiful pieces. Britten inspired me to the point where I'm writing my own unaccompanied oboe solo pieces.

I'm working on the metamorphoses for my high school senior recital, and this your videos helped me a lot with my tackling of such a big piece! Thank you. By the way, the end section of Niobe marked "expressionless" was perfect! It had such a distant and hollow feel to it. Really fantastic job.

i'm currently trying to improve this piece before a grade 8 exam.. but still struggling to get the clarity of tone that you have...

what do you mean a grade 8 exam?! Where do you live? In Florida, 7 is the top. Look into Marchello in D minor, 2nd and 3rd movments. Harder than these i think, but only a 6. This is a seven if you pick 4 movements.

In England we have 8 grades and this is one of the options for the unaccompanied part. I can't decide between this, phaeton or arethusa :(

Hello there. I suggest Arethusa, it has a great flow to it and shows off your trills! Good luck for your exam. ND
