just because he does not know how to say koreans words does not mean he doesn't understand it. myself for example, i have taken spanish for 2 years but i stopped taking it for 7 years so i forgot a lot of words. but when people speak and say say thing, i understand a lot of it, since they say words that i forgot about but always understood.
