David Blaine is a very good magician. I practice most of his card tricks and have been successful at surprising people with them. What I admire the most is his calmness and skill, cuz sometimes I rush the trick because of fear of failure. He has a good calm demeanor. I admire you Mr. Blaine.

All the tricks that db performed in this video I figured it out right away and I performed it with people around me also except with the ripping of cards because I don't have extra decks to waste. It's not easy because I'm not as good as db but as much as possible I did it clean and simple. He's my idol by the way. I will continue doing this trick to different people. Because many of them don't know about DL, P. Breaks etc.

true, i'v been performing blaine-style illusions and tricks for years now and they are totally impromptu and do take loads of practice and skill. david was the reason i started and always will be simply because of his style and the unique way he communicates with his audience. he makes performing in the streets something exciting, and gets the audience involved so theres no doubt that there are no gimmicks involved or actors (unlike chris angel etc).

I was in sudan at the time and one of my older relatives showed me Davids first Street special. When I was back in America the first thing I got was a deck of biccycles. His style is great and unpenatrable, and the best part...NO STOOGES!

I am aware of the different kinds of cards mate, been doing magic 15 years. What i mean is that magicians make to much fuss about the kinds of cards these days. as far as im concerned cards are a consumable just like flash paper. I can destroy a deck in one evening performing so i dont bother using these fashion decks (although i do collect them, i just dont use them) regular bikes and tallys all the way for me, and tearing a card is no big deal.

fair enough. On all honesty though, the guy i s a millionaire and more than likely gets all his decks for free anyway, but i get what you mean. I remember being a kid with very little pocket money, and living in the UK meant it was a massive novelty to get just a standard Bicycle deck, and at that age i would have never dreamt of writing on/ripping/folding a bicycle card!! How things change! Its very rare i keep a full deck longer than a few days anymore!

I personaly think Hollingworth is overrated, he's not the best card guy, Rene Lavand is 100 times better. Lee Asher is another Magicians Magician, I don't think he'll ever even work for laymen. And Greg Wilson isn't that good (Greg does ONE decent trick, he's sloppy). Blaine is in a catagory with Doug Henning, and Copperfield as far as Magical TV skill is concerned. David Blaine doesn't work for Magicians!

Believe me when I say your not going to find a talent like David Blaine in ANY magic dvd, IBM/SAM lecture, or convention! If I had a resturant I wouldn't hire Hollingworth, or Asher, or anyone but the elite. Blaine is diffently in a catagory with a Williamson, Malone, Copperfield, Henning. A lot of people are his fans, and the ratting's he pulls in show it! PS He does a really nice no get ready DL, I like it.

David Blaine apparently wanted to congratulate Criss, and asked to meet him. Criss said "who?".

Real Magicians DO NOT respect Criss. His picture was moved from the MC parlor room to the phone area, to the basement, then gone. That shows you the respect he has right there.

I actually get quite a number of gigs because someone saw Criss on TV! The laymen really adore everything he does and many laymen consider him to be the greatest ever.
