Now, this is only my opinion, and I have really enjoyed almost everything I have heard by Jim from the first album when I heard it brand new...BUT...I have to say (and it's not like I could do better), my first impression is, "Wow, what a bunch of self indulgent crap". I am no virgin to his poetry or music, and no youngster, but, whoa...
jim was incredible.....listened to it a few times(no native speaker) and only got a few lines...but now, listening to it as a whole.....it perfectly makes sense...first there is the left alone woman, looking for the children that may grow up without fathter...then the father/soldier going to a bithch house in nam cause he needs love.....and so on...this one makes perfect sense....just listen
I could listen to Jim's voice all day. Why the fuck did he have to die so young? I guess we're lucky to have even that little amount of his talent that lives on through his poetry and the music the Doors created. Thanks for uploading, denisespinoza!
there is no one better than :missrock98....this song is traquility of ramble...the famous way morrison ..hust wnt of ..when the rest of the doorrs just keeped jamming..thats what made all the great songs:THE END, WHEN THE MUSIC IS OVER AND BACKDOOR MAN, MY FAVORITE.."CAUSE THE..MEN DONT KNOW, WHAT THE LITTLE GIRLS....UUUNNNDDEERRSSTTAANNDD"....LOVE IT-what smart lyrics!!
You just know he winged it all, what a talent! I've had lucid drunken tangets of harmonies with lyrics before as well and if you record it you'll remember it all and write it down and make a song if you try as hard a Morrison. Genius lyrics for sure. I can imagine what the music should be like for this. Maybe this a method the doors often used to write a song. Jim sings a harmony with rough lyrics and the other lads find the riffs and chords. Beautiful to hear this, what an experience!
I don't really get why my friends don't enjoy this old music as much as me, oh well, seems that I'm always living in the 60s, 70s and 80s even if I'm from the 92.
Beautiful! : ) I was looking for the acapella version of this poem for a while. I just LOVE Jim's poetry and this is one of the most genius. Thank you sooo much for postinf. Love and peace.

Absolutely beautiful and haunting. I've heard it with music but it's way too programmed and blah. I love it just the way it is :)
