I remember that summer there was a neighbourhood party at the park. I was D.J. At the end I was a bit drunk, tired of playing top 40's pop and oldies, I decided to please myself, put the Baby's On Fire and danced the Fripp guitar's on fire. They all tought I was crazy or on heavy drugs or something. Man I was exhausted.
I'm 13 and I am so in love with song my dad showed it to me we used to sing it together all the time but he got shot and now he's dead so I can't sing it with him any more :( r.I.p Roland Salvatore
@maxmichaelhatling Because of things I've been hearing lately, what you just said makes some sense to me, and it never would have used to. Hmmm... I wonder if what I'm thinking is right.
Maybe somethings wrong with my sound, but i got a lot of jumping (just little bits). This is Robert Fripp at his best. Actually we don't know what he was capable of. Imagine having a Jam with him 30 years ago when he was cutting loose!
Am still stunned hearing this track. Had the album when I was at highschool and still a teenager. How can someone come up with the idea to mold background noises into music? Well, Eno can. And then Fripp on guitar...what can we say? Great lyrics, superb future sound....
The first time I heard this song was on Velvet Goldmine. I had no idea it was Brian Eno, to be honest, until I heard Her Come the Warm Jets at a museum exhibit. All of a sudden, I want to do two things: 1) buy the record and 2) get into using vinyl someday.
Ferocious, blistering guitar solo from Fripp. And deliciously perverse lyrics from Eno. Loved it then, love it now. And note the playing card on the mantle, of the magician holding up the skirt of his assistant while she attends to the call of nature. Cheeky cheeky, naughty sneaky.
1st time i've heard this. It is great. if you have ever heard Robert Fripp being interviewed you would not believe he is capable of such a ferocious guitar solo. The bloke is a geek genius
@TheSimonRowell I've listened to this countless times since 1973, and I never tire of hearing it. Eno has said himself that he'll never be able to write lyrics like this again. And '73 was a good year for ferocious guitar, as demonstrated by James Williamson's playing on the Stooges' RAW POWER album of the same year. I saw him play with the Stooges in April of this year in Ann Arbor, and I was not disappointed.

album got it's title from girl on cover squatting down having a pee while a guy holds up the back of her skirt -- "here come the warm jets"

@youart06 that girl on cover is Brian Eno

@schmitty1977 - he means the small playing card in the frame by the pack of Camel cigarettes. Eno's first 4 albums are the works of a genius.

There is no time. Eno knows it. At least he came back for us. See ya when we get there/here.

@maxmichaelhatling as with much of Fripp's work from this time period (see "Heroes"), the guitar solo is totally improvised.
