  • Ah, thank you for posting this. My family is polish and I am trying to learn. This helped. Will be watching this many times!

  • @CptnFry Wow! świetny polski :) Piszesz bardzo ładnie! Jest tylko kilka błędów:

    października

    w tym tekście (locative case)

    zostało napisane

żadnych tłumaczy (translators)/ tłumaczeń (translations) z Sieci (from the net)

Dobra robota!! :) Oby tak, dalej, powodzenia na uniwersytecie!

  • @AyeAyeKapitanie

Thank you very much!! I have only been learning Polish for seven months! I couldn't find the other 'Z with the line' on the online polish keyboard lol. Thank you for the corrections, I still have, according to my Polish lecturer 'Alot of Russicisms in my work'. But thank you for the corrections, there were alot less than i thought there would be =] i thought i wrote 'zostalo napisane', I did know that one, it was a typo =/

  • @CptnFry

Wow, bardzo dobrze piszesz! Błędów było bardzo mało (AyeayeKapitanie już wypisała).

W razie jakichś problemów z j. polskim pisz do mnie, chętnie pomogę ;).

  • thankyou thankyou is very good the video and the audio was also very good i love this language and your voice is very clear thanks

  • @26blanco You're welcome :)

  • this is great, but I find the Polish pronunciations a bit too fast at times

  • These are very good, but you speak way way too fast in some of the sayings that it is hard to take it all in. But good never the less.

  • very good

i will listen to it a lot of times :)

    congratulation !!!

  • Thanks very much for your videos. I've been trying to learn the basics for 4 weeks: there are lots of Polish people in my area and also I like the sound of the language (my favourite word is "Przeprazam" - it sounds so nice!).

It's useful to look at other videos to get the pronunciation phonetically, but you tend to hear the words & eg look at "jen-koo-yeh" to remember it. Your video makes me look at "Dziękuję" instead, and only hear "jen-koo-yeh" in my head. I hope that makes sense. Rozumiesz?

  • @jonno52 Sure I do :) My videoes originally did have phonetic transcription written below the word in question, however, the programme I used to edit the video didn't read it, and, sadly, I had to remove it before posting it on youtube. But perhaps I'll use your idea next time and write the pronunciation in the kind of way you mentioned. Thanks :)

  • @AyeAyeKapitanie Thank you! But I wasn't really making myself clear: I think it's sometimes a GOOD thing to have videos without phonetic transcription, because it makes you look at the Polish spelling properly! Best wishes.

  • Thank you!!!!!!!!!!! My family is Polish and I was DYING to learn this languge! In school I have to learn Spanish, or Espanol, and I rlly like it, but it just CAN'T compare to polish cuz this languge is da bomb. Thanks sooooooooo much! :) Are you gonna post anymore Polish lesson videos?

  • @lucky523cp Not for some time, I'm afraid. But I'm glad you liked this one!

  • Time for a break I think.

  • I have seen all three of your Polish Lesson videos and they are terrific, not to mention a tremendous help for beginners! I don't want to sound greedy but is there any chance you may make a few more lessons? If so, I wait with much anticipation :)

  • @brianPROULX I'm glad you liked the lessons :) Unfortunately I haven't had enough time to focus on video making since I graduated from high school. I was thinking about it many times though. If I make anything new in or about Polish, I'll let you know :)

  • thanks really useful i'm not trying to learn polish but my step grandma is coming to england today and she doesnt speak a word of english this could be interesting... lol x

  • @gabrielle07s *z Węgier :) Unfortunately, the name has to be inflected :) I'm happy you liked the video! Powodzenia z polskim! (Good luck with your Polish!)

  • if someone wants learn polish, write to me:) I also learn another languages so I understand a need of listening ! ! ;)

  • This is so useful. I'd all but given up finding anything worthwhile or interesting on the the internet until I saw this.

  • @counting1970 I'm happy to hear you liked it :)

  • Scheiße, warum bin ich dem Schreiben in deutscher Sprache?

  • Czuję się losowo

  • You lost me at 8.52

  • Very good introduction to a beautiful language. Thank you.

  • I just wish I could roll my rrrrs like you Poles do, it's really hard for me to do this.

  • @homeandaway98 sorry- przepraszam and thank you for the help = dziekuje bardzo dla pomocy

  • @LarsTallica

    dziekuje bardzo dla pomocy- wrong!

    dziekuje bardzo za pomoc- correct

  • @FrostMr oh lol dziekuje.im still working on my polish

  • @LarsTallica good luck! :D

  • doskonale

  • Borat always says jak sie masz

  • Thank you so much. I'm an international student who studies in Lublin. This is very helpful for me.

  • How do I say im from Italy? Jestem [...] or Z [...] what is the polish word for Italy?

  • @Kenshiroit :) It's "Jestem z Włoch". Italy in Polish is called "Włochy". However, depending on which one of the 7 grammatical cases you're using, it can be: N.: Włochy, G.: Włoch, D.: Włochom, Acc.: Włochy, I.: Włochami, L.: Włoszech, V.: Włochy. In the sentence "I'm from Italy", you use genitive (the 2nd case), so it's: Jestem z Włoch.

Complicated, but it's the way all teh counties are inflected :P.

  • @AyeAyeKapitanie Wloch? is Italy Wloch?? that's the first time i hear that word in my life. Anyways Bardzo Dzienkuje...and your lessons are wery good :-)

  • @Kenshiroit It<

It's actually called Włochy, though in this particular sentence it's Włoch. :)

We do have the word Italia, but this is kinda old-fashioned and relatively rarely used, mostly in the meaning of the ancient Roman Empire.

  • This is great a real help for helping to learn some basics thankyou :o)

  • @lisajane142 And I thank you :) It's really nice to hear!

  • This is great a real help thankyou :o)

  • Your videos are very helpful!

    Thanks ^^

  • @koestie Happy to hear that :)

  • this is great i love the way you've done this it is really helping me learn!

  • @1926fordtv I'm so pleased to hear that! Thank you! :D

  • Ja się uczę na tym angielskiego :D

  • @komenciara2 ^^ Haha! No cóż, można i tak :) Good luck!

  • @komenciara2 ja też ;]

  • I wish they showed the girls mouth. The "sh" sounds in Polish can be difficult.

  • Thank you for the videos.

  • Love this girl's voice! Makes me want to learn Polish. ^_^

  • @bluecobalt27 Awww that was such a nice comment :) Thanks for the compliment! You're welcome if you ever start learning Polish indeed and need some help ^^

  • I'm polish and not "Było mi miło Cię poznać" but "Miło mi było Cię poznać" (It was nice to meet you) ;)

  • @konradeczek93 or without "mi" - "miło było Cię poznać" ;)

  • @konradeczek93 Prawda to. ;)

  • @konradeczek93 Fajnie, ale ja tez jestem Polką :) I ja zawsze mówię "Było mi miło Cię poznać". Więc myślę jednak, że to kwestia albo regionu, albo tego, jak nas nauczono w dzieciństwie, bo polska składnia jest bardzo elastyczna :)

    Both correct ;)

Wszyscy mieszkamy w zach. Polsce (ja 50 km od niemieckiej granicy), którą podobno zamieszkuje ludność bezdialektowa, ale licho wie. :)

  • you know im russian and i understand this language mostly and this language is sound like mine language but its not writing like that

  • @Xiquad Privet! :) I know that, both Poles and Russians are in the Slavic language group, but you're in the Eastern group and we are in the Western one. That's why it's hard to understand the whole language, but you're right, we also understand some Russian without studying it. And I know you use the Cyrrilic alphabet. Как тебя зовут? :D

  • @AyeAyeKapitanie lol awesome меня зовут Алекс ;-) cool add me as a friend

  • Anybody want to learn polish?

  • Hey i was just wondering, The word porząndku, is that meaning like i'm alright? Just on another thing it said it meant thats alright, but i've seen it used in both context and im abit confused :S?

  • Literally, "w porządku" means "in order" so it's translated into "alright". It can be a reply for both "How are you doing?" and anything else that suits the context :) We don't usually say "I'M alright" or "THAT'S alright" but just "alright" so it's possible to use it in both situations.

    - How are you? (Jak się masz?)

    - (I'm) alright. (W porządku.)

    or:

    - I'm sorry I'm late. (Przepraszam za spóźnienie.)

    - (That's) alright. (W porządku.)

    ;)

  • thankyou! :D

  • @IThinkDemons You're welcome. Feel free to ask me something anytime.

  • You have a new video for upload? nice!:):)

  • I do but I haven't got time to glue the recorded parts together :P

  • The new vid's added :)

  • Thank you! Very useful video. I'll really need it when I'm in Poland)

  • My pleasure ^^ I'm glad to hear that :)

  • I've found out that you also speak Norwegian ) This is the language I'm learning as well alongside of Polish )

  • More VDO pleasee....... =)

  • Added :)

  • I watch this VDO every night before sleep ... damn......... Love is driving me crazy, dziekuje

    dziekuje

I'm wondering about the crossed fingers ^^!

  • Well I'm not that sure but I thought it was just a means of wihing somebody good luck wasn't it? ;D

  • Nice.... learning polish is it the way to impress a polish girl?

  • ;) It is, I ensure you ;) Good luck with the girl *I have my fingers cressed for you*

  • wow, the polish words are really hard to pronounce

  • True, the pronounceation rules are different from the Norwegian or the English ones, however, Polish is quite a phonetical language and once you learn what mark equals what sound, you'll have no further problems with pronouncing Polish words :)

  • Keep it up, this is by far the most useful video I have used. I look forward to the next lesson.

Thanks for giving up your time

  • The new lesson has just been added :) I hope you'll enjoy :)

  • Polska pozdrawia :) miłej nauki języka

  • FANTASTIC! I am Physically limited and not well. Started to learn Polish at home August 2008. A year or so later still coming to grips with the basics. Don't mind really as wanting a good foundation on which to build the rest of my learning. This video is soooo useful. Thank you for your time.

  • Hiii again :) Thank you SO much for your support, I'm really glad you liked the lesson, a new one is coming soon (I'm going to upload it this weekend). Feel free to ask in case of any problems, I'll do my best to help you :)

  • nice video

  • Thanks ;)

  • :P nice

  • Olga, jag insåg just att jag aldrig kommer kunna lära min polska :( ^^ Ucinska ^^

    Ola, Lodz, Galen, apa,

Uggla, clementin, igelkott, skata, kamel, Akalla ^^

  • Oh, evol, it's over of our friendship then xD Hahaa kidding ^^ Fu ling, I'd known it even before you realised ^^ Ihaaa...!

  • Haaha I have known for a loooong time, I just didnt tell you ^^ I dont know why, maybe cause it will break your heart xD

  • It did :'(

    ^^

  • Aw Ola, you spelled Papa wrong xD it shall be 'papa' ;O ^^

  • No, you Swedish, Norwegians, Danish, Germans, Spanish and all others write it wrong ;) We actually use both spelling ways, as a one word and two, but the 'pa pa'-spelling, or even 'pa, pa' semms more correct ^^ Nobody writes 'pa, pa' though ^^

  • Haha du är en mupp ^^ yeah, every one else's strange xD Good, you can move here in any moment, you already think like a swede ;-)

  • Haha I'm a boy in Sweden, so for now i'll stay in Poland xD But I'll attack you in the next summer ;D

  • i told ya, ola..

i will watch your videos with much antention...

    is not that hard...yet..xD =)

  • YET ;D That's a key-word here ^^

  • i have 'i dont speak polish very well' on lockdown. XD

  • how do i send private messages or email, actually you could just tell me your emial lol

  • For instance jak sie masz, i would write down as yak she mash (because that is sort of how you prnouce it. dunno if you get me XD

  • Okay :) No problem for me. You can just send me a private message or something. Don't care how stupid the phrases are ;)

  • i have to admit though because im such a dong, there gonna be stupid phrases lol. I had an idea wich would be easier than making a video aswell. All you do is write the phrase down in a text comment of how you actually spell it, and then next to it, the pronuciation.

  • Emila is a nice girl and i thought i'd learn some polish to freak her out (speaking her language), that's the whole reason i started learning polish lmao. but to be honest i dont mind learning another language, quite interesting

  • I agree, I love foreign languages ^^

Haha, okay, nice to know she's able to understand what you say to her while freaking her out at least ;D Sure I can help you with the phrases - as long as I know them O.o

  • lol, emila is polish orginated and lived there until she was 12 so can speak fluent polish. however there are some words and phrases she cannot translate into polish, so i'd hope tht you would be able to help. . XD

  • yeah the whole point of me learning polish is because i just wanted to freak my friend at work out by starting a convosation in polish. I did, but i only said hello, i am yet to unleash the beast and start a full blown convosation with her. Should of seen her face aswell when i siad dzien dobry. . lmao funny as

  • Hahah, I can imagine xDD As I get, the friend is not Polish? xD OMG that's cruel of you ;D

  • Should see me go with these phrases now, im like a ninja. Cheers for the video

  • XD I believe!

Well, good luck ;) And thanks!

  • Dear AyeAyeKapitanie

I Know some russian words and I think that polish language is a little similar .

    Do you agree ?

    Best Regards from Brasil

  • Dear iurikorolev

That's right, some words are very similar in these two languages - we're in the same language group. However, the Russian language belongs to the EAST Slavic languages, while Polish belongs to the west subgroup (and had been influenced by other languages than Russian). So there are still significant differences between these two. It's possible for us to understand some words; but without learning the other language - impossible to understand each other well :)

  • Comment removed

  • You know how i know the polish are lazy, they dont even meet us half way to attempt learning a slight amount of english so we cannot pronouce our own names in english. My god. . trying to say "i dont speak polish very well" fuck me, might as well learnt the rest of the language before even attempting learning that phrase lol.

  • Hahahah you really cheered me up with your comments ;D I don't know why you wanna learn some Polish but if you need any help with it, just et me know. And thanks for the compliment about my teaching! :)

  • i need hekp . :(

you're a very good teacher. you make it easy for me to understand.

  • yeah is quite hard. Soon as you can pronouce like how are you and other things you start feeling well confidant and then you hit us with stuff like Jak sie nazywasz lmao, but you are an epic teacher

  • i think i will always remeber jak sie masz because it sounds like borat thanks for the help it at least allows me to show i make the effort

  • Yeah Borat didn't actually pronounce it too bad ;)

  • hi ola^^

    nice polish lessons xD

    but is too haaaard xD

    pa pa =)

  • Oh gosh hi! xD

Well, I tried to pronounce it all as clearly as possible... But I know it's hard anyway. ;)

  • oh gosh xD

    long time you're lost xd

    haha

  • this is very difficult for me :p

I tried to say all the words, but for me it's too difficult to say them corect , haha. my first time trying to speak Polski :)

  • Well, Polish is a hard language :) And the pronounceation seems very tough for foreigners, too. I'm glad you tried though! ^^ Nobody's perfect for the first time :)
