We've kindof almost given up on bringing the show home, for they basically ignored us. But we got Clopin and Esmeralda back for one weekend in the park, and we think we can get them back more. SO ADD AND MESSAGE!
Just out of curiousity, I typed in "festival of fools disneyland" into the search bar to see if anyone had uploaded videos of this show. AND YOU DID! xD Haha. I loved this show so much as a kid. Miss it so much. Everytime my mother and I ride the train and we see it, we go, "Ooh, FoF. How we miss thee." Yeah. We're dorks. Haha.
oh that gave me chills! i was 5 at the time but i still remember this show! i always sat in the front and was just so excited! why doesnt disney do anything like this anymore? i also miss the new parade for all the movies that came out. like the lion king parade! and hercules!
Hey, everyone who LOVED this show and WANTS IT BACK should go add us on facebook and follow us on twitter. We are trying to get the show BACK FOR ITS 15TH. We need YOUR help. Twitter : WeWantFOFBack
Facebook : Wewantthe Festivaloffoolsback
If you can't figure this out, message me on this (:
I was so young, I don't remember seeing this, but I always remember seeing the set everytime the train would pass it. I always wondered what it was for. I really wish this was still around.
something about this looks soooo familiar to me... but it's weird, i went to disneyland for the first time in 2000, after this closed. =/ it's a shame they don't do this anymore =(
In just a couple more weeks, I'll be visiting Disneyland for the first time... but wait, they don't show this anymore?! Damn! The Festival of Fools would have been the highlight of my trip for SURE.
Happy Topsy-Turvy Day ParkHopper. Thank you for posting this! I was at the F.O.F from the day it opened to the day it closed. I made so many friends there that I am still friends with. It was one of the best experiences in my LIFE! I miss it terribly!
I would so date a boy who played Clopin! You know someone who plays the king of the gypsies has to be rather handsome and funny and intelligent... and... *sighs*
I cant believe they got rid of it!!!!!!!!!!!!! the movie was made in my birthyear, so naturally i didnt get to see it- i wuz 1 or 2. ugh, im mad at the disney company now. i want to see this so bad!
@SparrowFreak It's a sad waste of a beautiful theatre, turning it into a corporate picnic area! And what says "happiest place on Earth" better than a Festival of Fools?
I barely remember watching this show. I was like 2 years old, maybe younger at the time, My first time at Disneyland! Thanks for uploading this Parkhopper so I can remember what it was like!
This was my Favorite live show at Disneyland when I was little. I go all the time, and when this show was playing I believe I would catch this show as often as possible. I miss it, as well as the other live shows they not longer do.
I remember this show from when I was little! I really miss it - and I remember at the very beginning when the guy wearing black would say, "I'LL play Frollo!" Good times... Disney should bring this show back, even if its only for a little while.
I was backstage. :o) It was AWESOME! Best time of my life. If you live in California, go to the Team Disney Anaheim building to apply. If you're in Florida, I don't know! :oS
thise is where i glomped Quasimodo after the show near thise area he was signing autographes and that and i hugged him and i sat on Esmareldas knee i was 6or 7 then i loved thise show and the film
Wow thank you so much. I saw this when I was four because I was obsessed with The Hunchback and this show was my favourite! Every time I go to Disneyland and pass by the stage, I die a little bit. Great memories; thank you for the recollection!
lol i swallowed a bit it got everywhere iv still got the photos from the show and autographes were you their when [the guy inside ]Quasimodo collapsed with appendicitis
I wasn't there, but I do remember reading that it happened. Most of what I remember is the guy who played Clopin had the most AMAZING vocal range and perfect pitch I'd ever heard <3
I totally remember seeing this the first time i went to disneyland. I was 7 years old when I went. I remembered this because I recognized those little flags. I always thought it was a memory that really wasn't there and now i know it really was like that!
It is SO WEIRD to walk through this arena nowadays, knowing what it once was! THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this because only today I was trying to remember what it once was as I went through it.
OMG... thank you sooo much for having this up. I used to head over to Disneyland just to see this show. I'm pretty sure that the Clopin is played by Jim Graft.
was Jim also an understudy for John Smith? Because I know like several of the male leads for the show, took the part of John Smith when our friend Paul Cady had to take medical leave
Thank you so much for posting this! This brings back really great memories! I used to work there on the guest control crew and it still gets my vote for best/most fun place I've ever worked (that was my trainer, Scott at the beginning!)!
I would've loved to see this live, but I was too young at the time to appreciate it and would've just been upset that they didn't quote the movie word for word. (I was a picky brat when I was little)
That Frollo! I love him! 'I hate the gypsy vermin with every bone in my body.' Ha! Not as good as Tony Jay, but wonderful, nonetheless. That Clopin rocks, his singing voice is wonderful and Esmeralda is cool, too!
This was my first job at Disneyland, and my favorite! I was a mere pre-show gypsy, teaching the cheers, getting the guests fired up! I see my old lead, Matt in the bg! I hope they decide one day to revive this, perhaps to pantages! The music is much more dramatic &powerful than Wicked (which I just saw last night, & discovered Eden worked at Disney this same time, Animazement)
