Freddie, we still love you darling! Wish we could have taken better care of you! All you needed was someone who truly loved and cared for you! Mary was the true love of your life!
The weird thing was that this was a low point for Queen. thier lowest album sales, a lot of conflict in the band. But they went on to such great things after this.
they are soooo cute!!!! wish i could understand brian more!!! ;( so was he like the only one that didnt smoke!!?? good for him!! lol <3 Queen 4ever!!! :)
As with our close loved ones who pass on... every bit of any piece of their life becomes as precious as the finest piece of art, regardless of it's quality, the perception was forced to change by a loss. love grows from the joys and sorrows their sounds provided in each of our ways in their own way. those who loved them will always have that in their hearts that no one can take away from us . =-)
The first time I watched the clip, I didn't even notice the sound was bad, I was too busy staring at how beautiful they all look XD hahah I feel like a bad fan now XD
I love Queen and their songs from 70's-90's! As others would say,I don't think Queen ever compromised their taste for music for money whatsoever. They just evolved. It's genius that they covered a lot of genres of music while still giving it a Queen flavor. As Freddie would say..
"I hate doing the same things over and over again. I want to see what's happening now and try to incorporate that forms into Queen."
Long live Queen and all their songs and albums!!!
I find it ironic that he takes care of himself better when he's dying. Bit pointless don't ya think? I LOVE Queen, but from what I heard Freddie didn't start smoking til the 80s cuz he wanted his voice lower and on albums u can definitely tell!
Freddie Mercury was a GOD however, lest we forget, Queen’s music went precipitously downhill in the late 70’s! From classics such as Liar, Killer Queen, and The Prophet’s Song, to shit such as Radio Gaga. Etc!
In fairness, they were not the only band that succumbed to the pressures of the music executives! Jethro Tull was another major player that went from champs to chumps in that period! But I digress …
from 1978 to 1982 our 1983 freddie always have leather jacket our pants in his interview lool...i love it. when you look to Queen dress style and compare whith the regular 70s 80s people you can see that they dress very cool especialy freddie
Not only are they the best band in modern time musically, the four of them are (were) all humble and nice towards their fans. Queen is such a uniq group and simply the BEST.
Well they certainly paved the way for many, many new artists. They matter for sure, yet there are incredible musicians all over the world. I love Queen.
Freddie has a heavy chain smoker during the 80's. his voices improved towards the end. Listen to Barcelona,Scandel,i'm going slightly mad ect from The Miracle and Innuendo. :)

It's rare to see Freddie not smoking in the 80s... why?, did he think that he would have a big macho voice? he was traying to catch up lemmy kilmister's voice?... in the 70s he didn't smoke but someone knows why he changed that attitude?
he didnt really do anything in the 70s other than the music - by 1980s he had come out of the closet and was actively attending gay clubs where drug taking and smoking were the norm. i dont have a problem with that but any queen fan must be aware that his voice suffered as a result. the 70s recordings and live shows had a voice that was crystal clear and a range that could go very high without breaking up. after 82 he didnt even attempt some of the high notes and the style had got rougher.
I love posh rock bands...breaking the mold! Bill Bruford must be the poshest ever but Freddie comes closest...perhaps Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford...no-one rocks like a public school boy!!!!
This is the first time I saw this one.I too do not understand much of this interview. However,it makes up with this wonderful footage that shows 'me' HOW good looking and gentil each member REALLY WAS!!!!!!!!!Woh, My heart is racing. I luv Queen xever!!!!!
Strange that they would agree even in this stage of their career to be interviewed on a teatime programme as Nationwide was. I just wonder if they recorded their Top of the Pops appearance for "Las Palabras De Amor" on the same day.
Thank you SO MUCH! It is very very rare interview. If you could put the better resolution copy on queenzone it would be a present for many many Queen fans.
Thank you so much for this rarity. They were interesting to watch in interviews, Freddie was often caustic and a little unpredictable ( eg his quip 'yes let's break up tomorrow') The others could be relied upon to show the more 'cuddly' side of Queen. Great mix of personalities.
