  • no that is not the band beating people up.999 did loads of anti racist gig and were members of rock against racism just because punk band attracted racists dickheads it dose not mean the bands are racist fact

  • REMEMBER THIS IS 999 A CLASSIC ANTI NAZI,ANTI NF,EDL,BNP BAND SO ALL YOU BNP EDL DICKS CAN PISS OFF

  • Brilliant, Epic? Well you're not too far off either way. What a great bunch of musicians. May the gods bless each and every one of them

  • How this song only got to number 40 I will never know.

  • @Kieronoldham Yeah, me neither. But let's talk about Whitney Fucking Houston, between hits on the stem, like it matters. God, if it wasn't for corporations, we might just have a chance. Stay cool dude. Much love.

  • @Roddog61 Houston? she had a problem

  • @glengal hahahaha no more... shes lost the signal

  • fucking top[tune.. i loved this in 79

  • "Sorry we can't sign you. You don't look like Justin Bieber."

  • glasgow was a pretty grey town when punk happened this lent some colour into my life

  • I've got this album somewhere in my basement.

  • Tried and failed to get people into this when first released. Avery good band who truly deserved much more respect and success. Thanks for the upload. Great memories of building up to a night on the town listening to this!!!

  • I do not understand why this band arent given the props they deserve. First 2 albums are fantastic. Intellegent, accomplished and great songs. The only reason I can think of is that their 'look' was a bit naff

  • @pollmeister what does naff mean?

  • @OceanSkate401 Rubbish, trash, worthless, go away etc.

  • @Kieronoldham k thanks. is it british slang?

  • @OceanSkate401 Yep.

  • @OceanSkate401 it means a bit rubbish, not what is deemed as 'cool' at the time etc x

  • this song takes me back cruzin the streets in buddys primer red 1978 dodge magnum.. man was that car a battleship..what a great tune 999 great punk bands will never die

  • @bbsvenom12345654321 999 still tour in the UK, ive seen them a few times this year, one of which was Rebellion Punk Festival in Blackpool

  • Oh yeah, brilliant, jesus this takes me back. The first two 999 albums, in 1978, both packed with fantastic songs. Saw the band on one of the old Sunday nighters at the Roundhouse in Chalk Farm, the Crew going crazy down the front. Great night, fantastic band. Thanks for uploading.

  • Love it. Thanks.

  • It is a classic

  • Great punk energy. This is up there with the Pistols.

Is there a filament of connection between this and Volcano Girls by Veruca Salt?

    Just askin.

  • Not For The Mass's & One Of The Best Live Show I've Ever Seen!!! F'n Sweat Box Back In Early 80's Yes EPIC>>>>Now I'm Gonna Reach For My Revolver!!!

  • I loveee , the best band!

  • Yes, my one and only true friends. This is "how it's done". It looks easy, but achieving this will be the hardest thing you ever do. To make it worse, once done, you may never be able to do it again. However, if you succeed, you'll never make Brittany Spears money, but children whose grand parent's aren't even born yet will recite your name long after the Brittany's of this world are long forgotten. Why the hell else do we do this? If it's for the pay, YOU'RE WRONG, like Brittany.

  • they produce dual impression, like in a movie about Ted Bundy

  • Is this the Herman Cain plan.

  • @pbmax He should make "Crazy" his theme song for his new bus tour

  • one of the best concerts i ever saw...........great

  • this song is fucking epic

  • Hands up if the Killing of America brought you here...

Please, does anybody know what make of guitar the guitarist in the red pants is playing?

  • @sgr48 , The guitar was made by the Gibson company. The model is called the "Les Paul." It was a fairly successful model for Gibson.

  • @guitarslim56 @sgr48 I think you'll find it's a Melody Maker, not a Les Paul.

  • @weswemyssonbass isn't it a les paul junior?

  • @garethjsthomas Yeah I think you're right. Scratchplate is the giveaway. Good call!

  • @weswemyssonbass isn't it a les paul junior?

  • That there is a tiny microphone.

  • Gotta thank Rodney on the rock for turning So. CAL on to this killer band and countless others in the late 70s and early 80s...X FEAR CIRCLE JERKS BLASTERS ANGEL CITY..the list is endless!!! 999 ROCKS!!

  • Saw the band 999 one memorable night in Ole Nu Wallins. I was never the same . INTENSE, AWESOME show,1980 OLD MAN RIVERS on the West Bank New Orleans kids went crazy and started to tear the club apart. Then it started to get really wild. A Jefferson Parish Sherif Deputy jumped up on stage, wrestled one of the bands microphones away from one of 999's wild eyed band members and started screaming Kidz ! KIDZ ! KIDZ CONTROL YOURSELVES ! CONTROL YOURSELVES !

    Fantastic an 100% true

  • PUNK

  • More ATTITUDE in their pinky nail than most so called "cool" bands could ever muster.

  • We used to jam this on the way to the skate park back in the 70's..

  • saw these guys in San Francisco around 1999 or 2000, the same night as the big venue had the big punk rock "cash in" tour gig happening with GBH and god knows who eles playing, 999 was playing some shit hole down by the bay in no mans land. i thought shit if they can make it all the way over here to play after all these years then i can get off my ass and see them. and they were loud and proud!

  • @MrBloodDrive Was he the one who sold his sister (by accident) or the tall one who broke his neck in the bath?

  • 999 all done up for Cheggars Plays Pop. Great song though.

  • @thatfingio Nah mate, the Cheggars Plays Pop appearance was about 3 years after this, around the time of the 'Concrete' LP.....they played 'Obsessed' or 'Little Red Riding Hood', can't remember which, but it was definitely 1 of those 2. I wish someone would post that on here, just so my toes can curl again at the naffness of it! ;-)

  • @RedBryn Yeah you`re right the Cheggs appearance was about 81 ,can`t remember the name of the song. seem to remember the Addicts on there too (but they were shite regardless)..

Always thought 999 looked like Top Shop punks in the get up they wore, but their singles up to 78/79 were all fine .

Congrats on the nineteen from Evertonians everywhere ;)

  • @thatfingio Blimey, I didn't know the Addicts done Cheggars' 'n all....they didn't really budge me either - I think they were more appreciated abroad - massive in Japan, etc...

I remember getting 999's 1st LP & thinking they looked like day-glo Mods, but the music was bang on (especially 'Chicane Destination' & 'Nobody Knows') - nowt like Secret Affair, et al!

Cheers for the congat's, mate! My Liverpool fan wife aint too chuffed though - I'm gonna do her head in with Paul Hardcastle's 'Ninteen'!

  • I met them at an in store appearence and got my album signed & I still have it.
