As A railroader and Horn collector.. Leslie Airhorns are not suppose to exceed 130 PSI as it can cause damage to the Diaprahams. Just giving ya a tip... Nice horn I have a RS3L myself.
I have 24 (I think) frames for assorted Leslie and Prime train horns, all of them are three horn mounts. Could I just cut off the 2 horn mounts (1 on each side) and keep the center mount, then weld up for testing purposes or should I try to find an original single horn mount? I have 9 or 10 horns themselves and about 3 crates of power chambers, so far I have only got one horn in a S-L3LR model to work but I just have to rebuild or replace the other 2 power chambers.
more like a boat

semis run at 110 max not 200
AirRideLuvtruck 4 years ago
they are louder at 200, and as I said before, my air system is set up for air ride......
bobtheoutlaw 4 years ago
Real trains run no more then about 140# why 200#
MotelCambodia 4 years ago
up to a point, the more air pressure, the louder the horn. I keep 200 on my truck because it is a setup for airride.
bobtheoutlaw 4 years ago
The more air pressure, the louder it is but the worse it sounds. Higher air pressure will also cause premature wear to many parts of a Leslie.
