Back when Donovan flooded the airwaves of the 60's I was a teen. I used to fall asleep listening to his music (one of a variety of 5 albums that I owed).  Fast forward to mid 1970's & I found myself backstage at the Greek theater after a miles of iles concert meeting Joni Mitchell and finding myself meeting Donovan. Such a nice happenstance in my life. Needles to say I still love Donovan's music. Wish he still put music out there for all of us oldies but goodies.

@mrfrogbutt1 I probably would have fainted at the time ( I think that I was all of about 22 or 23) but it was just one of those moments when you are totally THERE even though you're not sure how it all worked out for you to be THERE at that moment. They'd both spoken to my heart through thier music with such power that it was a bit unnerving to actually be present with them. Great experience to look back on.

@mrfrogbutt1 Oh you are so right. Actually they & a few other artists that I followed inspired me to develop my own expressive talent either inspite of or because of the challanges of that time. It was my own artistic path that caused me to briefly meet up with Donovan and Joni Mitchell. I had immersed myself into becoming an Artist and when I met up with them I had become a fabric designer/fiber artist and had done several of Joni's costumes for her Miles of iles concerts.

As lovely as a voice that Crystal Gayle has I prefer Donovan singing this beautiful song with Joan Baez. Actually Donvovan really really liked Joan Baez a lot and speaks about his feelings for Joan in his book. Other then singing this song wiht Donovan I don't think Crystal Gayle sung or got involved with folk music.

I think she mostlly stuck with the country music genre.

Wow "exquisite" is surely an accurate word to describe this...but truly there aren't enough words to say what an amazing person Crystal is :) She has a true gift; she IS a true gift.
