  • Have you got any more of these videos? AngieB (p.s. Scott and Mr. Patel are a funny pair!)

  • Have you got any more of these videos? AngieB

  • You had from 6th April 2008 - 31st January 2009 to fill your tax return online so why wait until the beginning of January when the deadline's approaching? People like you annoy the hell out of me, and as for your question about paying councillors £12,000 for the second home allowance, that is not something within HMRC's remit so why is it relevant to this quite frankly rather pathetic video!

  • I'm sorry if you feel the video is pathetic, but I'm curious why everyone (HMRC included) is so quick to criticise others for trying to file within the period they allow! If they give a specific period in which to file online, the system should be available and fully functional during those times.

The £12,000 comment was aimed towards GB but choosing not to tax them on it IS HMRC's choice!

So, can you explain why it is our fault for attempting to use the service?

  • Ah... you're a tax advisor and a young one at that. You of all people know how important it is to keep any evidence when dealing with the monumental sham that is HMRC. No offence, but you haven't enough experience of HMRC to fairly comment yet. Give it a few years and you'll be a disgruntled lemming, just like me.

  • Look you fucking twirp , HMRC is the finest institution in the land and frankly its morons like you that give this country a bad name constantly fucking moaning , were fighting two wars and your moaning because you're too fucking lazy to fill in a paper return. Furthermore hmrc have detailed plans to allow businesses to spread their repayment of tax so your last statement was incorrect , think of the sheer volume of returns that have to be processed and theirs bound to be some flaws

  • Firstly, I'm not moaning... this is merely video evidence to prove I'm trying to file online. Secondly, I'm not too lazy to file on paper... this is (apparently) a faster and more efficient way to file a tax return.

Between April & December 2008, HMRC processed 2.8 million returns (350,000 a month). I manage public-sector servers which process 14 million transactions a MONTH with less than 0.5% of HMRC's budget; they don't struggle.

  • Filing online is basic form entry & data storage... and even the most rudimentary servers do that with ease. The calculations are so basic, they could be performed at a client level.

    Get some perspective...

In 2005, Google served 200 million hits every day! Do you remember the last time it failed for any length of time?

The SAO facility has been live since 2000 and nearly a decade on, the entire process should be fettled almost to perfection... not still feel like a work in progress.

  • i hear u scott - does my fucking head in when i hear of people mocking the system when the are oblivious of all the good HMRC do.
