hey! just wondering how you got this to work with the iphone

i bought it today and plugged my iphone in, and as soon as it plugs into the cigarette lighter, the transmitter station numbers all dissappear and it says my phone isnt compatible for the device

my phone doesnt have aux so i tried using the aux on the tunebase into my iphone and still wont connect

any suggestions?

I've tried a few FM transmitters, and in Toronto, there is nothing but terrible reception. Too much interference. I bit the bullet and changed the entire stereo deck (Clarion) so now it takes USB, AUX for Ipod, AM/FM, CD and CD/MP3. Works much better for me.

i bought the very same FM transmitter today and i was wondering if yours doesnt have that great of sound quality? i've had cheaper ones that i got for 10-30$ but i payed 80$ for this one and sound doesnt seem to be all that much better. when i play the radio or a cd, i only have to have the volume up 1/4 of the way to play music fairly loud but with the transmitter i have to turn the volume almost all the way up to get close to the same volume. is there any volume controls on it that i missed??

I have the same unit and will not use it again. It blew out my IPhone when it was plugged in the unit. I adjusted the unit while plugged in the cig' lighter and caused a short. Luckly Apple Store replaced my iPhone at no charge.

What i did with mine is open it up, Cut the attena cord and but on a new on that was about 18inchs. So i went from 1 and a half inchs to 18. No problems at all anymore.

Does anyone know if this product works if you have a protective sleeve -- i.e. the Belkin silicone sleeve -- over the ITouch. I can't stand having to remove a protective cover every time you want to plug it in.

I just received my Tunebase FM from Belkin the exact one you have, and atm I use the Iphone 3G, there's a lot of controversy if the 3G series works or not, and so far when I plugged it up the numbers are scrambled and cut in half, I've worked on it for an hour or so doing many different things and nothing will work. Any suggestions? Also my Iphone 3G is jailbroken could that have anything to do with it? Thought I saw yours JB'd as well.

Well I just purchased mine for $8.00, and I must say...clarity isn't all that good. I have it plugged into a lancer, have found many clear stations and still static comes an goes....never really 100% clear. Great video...but not everyone experiences the same great quality in which you are describing.

i like the fixed arm one too - i bought mine for the itouch - its not supposed to be for the 3g but it seems to work OK - hope its not doing any damage as i don't have a 3G cradle!
