England are good but the football there encouraged is more physical and fast, rather than tactical and technical such as those of Spain or Italy. This, I think is the reason they currently aren't living up to their true ability. They need a good playmaker to create the chances for their strikers and drag defenders out of position. Not out wide either, needs to be a centre mid or someone in the hole.
English football is way too traditional and lacks flare and skill. The EPL is a great standard because of foreign input. How many English players play abroad? How many that have played abroad succeed?
Most successful players in the EPL struggle in Italy & Spain because of their style of football. Look at how many players from EUR that come to the EPL and end up being the best in the league?
At least England is employing foreign coaches now, which is a step in the right direction.
