  • 9 people dislike eurovision.

  • UBER COOL, UBER AHEAD OF TIME, UBER FUN! the start of a smoking run of Belguim entries that weren't given their true rewards. BTW that isnt a disposable camera but an Olympus XA2, expensive in its day! I was given one for xmas!

  • The weirdest part for me about this song is: I like it. A lot. It's good music.

  • this is what i call true Belgium humor , those guy's are true dadaiste like the guys from Yello in switzerland ^^ to be honest those guy was ahead from there time ^^

  • i like that scarf move, nice lil touch

  • greatest song to ever compete on eurovision. way ahead of their times, and way too intelligent for average eurovision audience

  • who is the music director/conductor?

  • @harry10313 Check out Marc Moulin. The guy with the curly hair on the left.So sad he past away some years ago.In the seventies he had a Jazzrockband named:Placebo. The last years he worked under his own name. One of the best musicians from Belgium.

  • Lookout Kraftwerk !

  • motherfuckin SCARF DANCING IN THIS BIATCH!!!

  • I wonder where the picture Michel Moers (the singer) took is now... hopefully he kept it :P

  • Whats the point in the disposable camera at the end..?

  • @JThefool It is far from a disposable camera, but the world's smallest full frame 35mm full featured rangefinder, the Olympus XA.

  • @JThefool

"Whats the point in the disposable camera at the end..?"

He wanted to make a picture of the audience gawking at them.

  • I like the song but I wouldn't give any point for it!

  • He's all like "I'm just chillin here, singing Eurovision" and then he throws his little paper-rain like: "this is what you will see soon - a little gold paper rain. Woohoo ^^" :DDD <3

  • Cool performance! :)

  • Great song! I hear they were really happy they got zero points!

  • ...at the beginning rythm sounds like French elektro.: superdiscount, Jus+ice, Alan Braxe and Daft Punk...pure Legends!!

  • "Te deum", la sinfonia de inicio de transmision de Eurovision aparece en los ultimos segundos de la actuacion. Muy original =)

  • Belgium: 2000 points!

  • Special song, but sung real bad. In those days that was a reason not to give points.

  • Yeah this song would get now MUCH more than 0 points :P

  • I reckon if this was entered today, it would win by an enormous margin. Thirty years ago it was still big ballards and schlager at Eurovision. This was too far out.

  • A gweboo pendejos estos son los Chingones !! no mamadas !!

y Viva México Cabrones !! me vale madres !!

  • Electronic...Surprising!

  • TELEX! awesome as ever, even while playing dumb, the song still is actually ace :)

  • awesome

  • Reminds me kinda of Kraftwerk... Love his moves.

  • Just for the people who don't understand this song, it's sense, or why it's still one of the biggest classics of the contest itself:

Telex never intended to win, it was supposed to be a joke and mocking the contest.

It's sad that still to this date, people don't get it. This was one of the best and most innovative performances, and it was WAY ahead of its time.

A shame they didn't get the last place they hoped for.

  • I saw this added on facebook as something special...

I don't speak french, but this is something really LAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LAMELAMELAME!!! Adding this to facebook nowadays is... well yeah.... :-P

I'm sorry, but even LORDI is better off then them. I don't mean to offend people who like this music. I just wonder why this song is still ON on facebook, although it's older thab I am! ????? :-/

  • @zindeb So, nothing older than you should be on the internet, or just You Tube or Facebook?

  • I love it. The song's a great tribute to Eurovision.

  • @corlagol

If viewed as a serious entry then maybe. However it was NOT meant as a serious entry. Telex wrote intentionally banal lyrics and hoped people would get the joke. But that's the downside of comedy, you always take shots from people who just don't get the joke.

Telex was highly influental to the electric, techno, house and hip hop scene of the 80's and they were one of the most sampled artists.

ZZ Top played one of their songs as intro on their tour.

  • They should have won

  • I wonder if he still has the picture he takes at the end...

  • 1980 version of We are the winners (Lithuania 2006). =]

  • @manyaxbunny

people didn't get that joke either. people thought Lithuania were serious too.

    The Eurovision audience are dummies.

  • Portugal jury give ten points to belgium XDDDDD WOW

  • Very nice song. Should have been the winner. Way ahead of his time indeed. Now all the eurovision songs are like this...

  • Amazing!

  • Du pur génie!

  • Precisely!!!!

  • Way ahead of his time!

  • great special effects at 3:22 !

  • Mouhahaha la robe d'Arlette :o))
