Actually he was a piano player who loved the guitar and figured "why not?" A friend of mine used to see him on street corners in NJ and got hooked. He met me one night at the Blue Note in the village and I had a night I'll never forget. I was arms reach away and it was amazing.

OH GOD!!!! I've only heard him use distortion on " the time is now" or something like that, and I always wondered how cleanly it would be with tapping, because sometimes clean tone doesn't show the buzz, but seriously this is insane, he's cleaner than... any picker I've heard! (inc. Jason Becker, Rusty Cooley etc) even more reason for me to idolise him wow!

what about paul gilbert? he is notoriously clean.. i mean completely different styles and difficult to compare, but it's hard to say any one is cleaner than paul gilbert , for the speed he plays at.. granted stanley jordan might be the cleanest tapper
