I think he normally would have gone to greater lengths to save this fish but the locals were quite insistent that he only received the help of their god to catch the fish to feed the village. I dont totally agree with the decision made, however i believe there was a bit of a moral conflict making it difficult to choose either or. On one half, that fish is likely a struggling species despite its predatory advantages. So killing and eating it may have not been the wisest thing to do. But as for the people of the Congo, it had a very significant impact on many of their lives.
Sad end for a beautiful monster, but at least the "demon" has left the Tiger Fish, with Jeremy being able to bring it into the light. And, of course, that village will be having fish tonight! One of my top five fish from River Monsters; thanks!

i love this show but this is ridiculous. i completely understand his pov but these ppl helped him for weeks on end. that fish wouldve fed plenty of ppl as big as it was. i normally agree w letting such a specimen go, there's no need to butcher it needlessly but that's far from what wouldve happened, it wouldve gone to good use. and no, clearly there WASNT anything going on off screen obviously that fish had bruises all over it's head...so you want FISHY to live when it coulda fed a damn village?

good show but i have a feeling they did more damage to it than appeared on camera, whether it was a sedative or holding it above water too long. seemed like they were trying to cover themselves by blaming 'the rocks in the water' for the fish's death.

@the89oliver, Thanks for your comments but there was no extra damage, it was a strong old fish fighting for it's life in rocky water. Very sad it died, but it fed a whole village.

I dont totally agree with the decision made, however i believe there was a bit of a moral conflict making it difficult to choose either or. On one half, that fish is likely a struggling species despite its predatory advantages. So killing and eating it may have not been the wisest thing to do. But as for the people of the Congo, it had a very significant impact on many of their lives.

Sad end for a beautiful monster, but at least the "demon" has left the Tiger Fish, with Jeremy being able to bring it into the light. And, of course, that village will be having fish tonight! One of my top five fish from River Monsters; thanks!
