  • Hi rushnut1958. I do not want congress involved telling the NFL or other leagues what to do - I'm just glad that the congressman took the opportunity - when this jerk happened to be there for another reason - to show him the hypocrisy of his double standard when it came to Rush. The NFL doesn't deserve Rush. He's too good for 'em. Goodell was a simpleton to hide behind the "Donovan McNabb is a fine young man". Who said he wasn't?

  • As opposed to you hypocrite Democrats who defend Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. This is just like the same Democrats who demanded the firing of Don Imus while supporting the rappers who call women bitches and hos.

  • While I agree that Rush Limbaugh is offensive, I don't feel that this is the reason why the commission declined his bid to own a team. Limbaugh uses comments on his show that are often viewed as prejudiced and not just towards race but also towards class/socioeconomic status. That is why I think he lost his bid. He would be a representative of the NFL. And, as that is a corporation, it has the right to be choosy about the company it keeps in order to be profitable. Double standard or not.

  • Just like the liberals who demanded the firing of Don Imus, but refused to go after the rappers who call women bitches and hos.

  • Your video makes the point that Rush Limbaughs comments were about the media wanting to see a black QB succeed, and a black man elected president. It's not disputed. The media can be seen as racist in wanting to see a black coach, QB, or president succeed. The media always makes it an issue, and it is to be celebrated to an extent. Tony Dungy 1st black coach to win Super Bowl, Barack Obama - first black U.S. president. Doug Williams 1st black QB to win a Super Bowl. This congressman is heroic.

  • yourpalsteve, why do you want Congress involved? Do you want the NFL to make their own decisions, or do you want Congress to approve NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA transactions?

  • Why is racism is only racism when a white guy says it?

  • what a moron. who cares about fergie and j'lo? i dont think any rational sports fan knows or cares that those two owning a sports team. talks about irrelevancy.

  • Remember what the Democrats did to Don Imus while ignoring vulgar misogynistic rappers.

  • yes, but those "vulgar misogynistic rappers" are not addressing certain individuals when they do their music. they can say whatever they want as long as they are not going and doing it to somebody specific all the time. when they make their insults, they generalize it to all kinds of people. don imus was preferably talking about the "nappy headed hoes" playing for rutgers. its apples and oranges.

  • His point is that any RATIONAL sports fan can see that Limbaugh's comments are no worse than theirs which RATIONALLY means that there is a double standard in the commisioner's policy.

  • fergie and j'lo claiming that the CIA are terrorists and liars arent comments made just to get a rise out of people... its their opinion. nancy pelosi said they are liars. should she get kicked out of congress? and, as far as i know, there is no way that fergie and j'lo, both females, would be in support of sexual abuse of women. also, there is no way that they have used the n-word seeing as how their music barely cusses and they arent even black. and whats wrong with rec drugs and verbal porn?

  • Rep. King is a dolt. Of course he wouldn't find anything Limbaugh said offensive, because he's not a woman, a minority, poor, gay, or disabled. He doesn't have an empathetic bone in his sorry ass body. He needs to be voted out yesterday.

  • People like you and politicians like Obama is why another minority will have a harder time gaining in life or put in office.

As a race card or some decry of foul play from the minorities is constantly being played and we are tired of it!

  • People like me are the reason we won't have another black or minority president? That's ignorance in it's extreme. Listen, racism is REAL, whether you want to believe it or not. It didn't just go away because we now have a black president. Your side's constant playing of the "race card" card is what is going to keep Republicans in a political minority for a long, long time, because you just don't and won't get it.

  • I got it. I've been living in this society over 40 years. I seen how democraps treat thr minorities in NY. I use to campaign up there.

We are being divided for a reason. AMERICA is falling and at its near end.

  • You don't understand, because you're devoid of empathy towards people who aren't like you. You pretend that racism is a thing of the past, or that minorities should just suck it up and get over it. You're wrong though, and the fact that you continually play the "race card" card shows me how little you care about historical racism, and how it affects many individuals, even today, just like Limbaugh. The true racist doesn't recognize his own deficiencies.

  • Your a stereotype!

I was a soldier, a leader. I always was fair among all subordinates and professional regardless of race. I was in law enforcement an applied laws fairly and did not profile. SO DO NOT CALL ME A RACIST!

  • That sounds great and all, but you cannot defend Limbaugh for not being racist without being at least ignorant on what racism is or what effect it has on people of color. That's what you demonstrate when you defend the man who called football a gang fight between blood's & cryps without weapons, or telling a caller to go put a bone in her nose and call him back. The comments he made about Obama are also indefensibly racist, i.e. "We are told to (root for) Obama because his father was black."

  • I know what effect it has! I am tired of the race card being played. If we held black commentators and reprters to the same standard I am sure you find racist comments there and a lot more. That thing with the bone in the nose was FALSE and a LIE, the reporter that told it apoligized. I was not defending anyone I was just pointing out the tired played out race card!

  • Well, it's too bad, because racism still exists, and it's more covert these days. It's not a "race card," and I'm tired of hearing people like you marginalize the real problem of racism that way. That shows me that you don't get it and probably never will, because if you did, you wouldn't call it such a tired and disrespectful term. You, by calling it as such, are defending Limbaugh and racists like him. Get over your self righteous indignation and maybe you'll be a step closer.

  • I will never get over my self righteousness. Why should I?I am at peace. I will help and have helped others as fellow citizens should. Our constitution guarantees equal protection and equal rights. What other country guarantees that? People whom complain of racism is using it as a scapegoat. Many have risen from being poor or in bondange as being productive and participate in being responsible citizens. STOP SCAPEGOATING!

  • The fact that is it more covert shows that we are headed in the right direction. I know racism still exists and is downright ugly in some places, but we have to be more responsible because being accused of being racist when you simply disagree on politics is slander.

  • It is a good thing that people can't be so blatant about their racism anymore, but I'm not calling Limbaugh a racist because I disagree with his politics, although I do disagree. He literally is racist. Take any number of his racist comments, the latest calling President Obama "boy."

  • "boy."? Fair enough. Very racist comment indeed.

  • I don't throw around the term racist lightly and I understand the concern about that, but this is legitimate. Another comment that disturbs me is when he said football looked like a "gang fight between Bloods & Cryps, without weapons." That comment alone, I think, was enough to not consider Limbaugh an owner of one of those teams. I appreciate the civility of your comments, btw. :)

  • Rush's comment about the NFL being a battle between Bloods & Cryps without weapons is relatively correct. Rush uses humor to (as he says) "illustrate absurdity by being absurd" . How many of the NFL players would be a CPA, lawyer, banker, insurance agent, business owner, cop, fireman, pastor or the like. Tattoos all over their necks and arms - very/very limited speaking ability - High GPAs - well maybe not so much. Gang members, yeah, maybe? Rush is pretty close.

  • You're stereotyping. You don't think the people who play in the NFL are intelligent? They're smarter than you and I, having made it through college. Your comment is blatantly generalizing in it's blanketing of NFL players in that manner. If you were to try to become an owner of an NFL team making these comments, you'd have a long and difficult road ahead, just like Limbaugh.

  • Hi JohnnyBB82.

Most players in the NFL are not mental giants. Most did "not" finish college - and many barely had grades to get to college. I have a 4-year degree - not that it means much. I have my own business and employ six people. I'm not 30% as smart as Rush - and he never went to college and hated high school. The best owners are the ones who get as much as they can for little money - like my Oakland A's - four times World Series champs in 40 years. The avg. NFL IQ is likely 100-ish.

  • Don't let Rush fool you, he's an intellectual. He's always thinking, trying to come up with the next day's controversy. His, and many others on the right's feigned disdain of "intellectuals" is just that, because most of them are intellectuals themselves. I personally don't think it's fair to paint with such a broad brush, especially with no real evidence to back it up, and it certainly doesn't give license to the comparison of football and gang violence.

  • You're right JohnnyBB82. I didn't know the definition of an intellectual until I was forced to look it up after your response.

    1. Of or relating to the intellect, rational rather than emotional.

    2. Appealing to or engaging the intellect:

    3. Having or showing intellect, especially to a high degree.

    4. Given to activities or pursuits that require exercise of the intellect.

Yes - Rush is all of those. You're a very courteous debater. Thanks, and good goin'!

  • Whether or not one disagrees with Rush, or anyone else, one cannot dismiss the man's intellect or success. So yes, I was right on the mark. However, Limbaugh does overtly appeal to peoples' emotions, so not sure the first definition would be completely accurate. The right's demonizing of intellectuals and of intellect are self-serving and disingenuous, at best, appealing to the lowest common denominators in our society.

  • Racism exists only because of black supremacists like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

  • Most opinion shows appeal to emotion I suppose. MSNBC is enough to throw some righties like me into emotional overload. Rachel Maddow/Keith Holderman ... that stuff is nuts! Does the right demonize intellectuals? I don't see that. The exception may be teachers and college professors who vote 80% democrat (I would imagine). Those are the minds that are shaping the minds of the future generation - so that is a problem for conservatives who don't want people to be slaves to government.

  • What in particular did rush say that you found offensive?

  • furgie and JLo????

what a fuking idiot. i wonder how these people get elected.

  • Could you not keep up with the logic?

  • if thats what you call logic, No.

  • NFL Commish - Ive said many times before, were all held to a higher standard here and I think divisive comments are not what the NFL is all about, Goodell said. I would not want to see those kind of comments from people who are in a responsible position in the NFL, absolutely not.

Rush Limbaugh uses his radio show to express his views not unlike a musician uses songs to express theirs. I have no problem with the NFL doing whatever the hell they want, so long as their policy is equal.

  • explain, in detail if you can; how fergie and JLo are more offensive than rush limphog???

  • Thats a tough task considering "offensive" is subjective, but Fergie and Jlo both have refered to men as niggers and women as whores. Does that do it for you? Consider this: If Rush opened every show with "Greetings my niggas and hos" would that be offensive to you? Is it what he has said, or who has said it? Is that not racial discrimination?

  • considering "offensive" is subjective; (not sure who youre talking about) Whomever opened there show " with greetings niggas and hos" in the context being used the crowd must not have taken offense to it so it wouldnt be considered offensive, and theres been no objection. however rush limphog and the expression of his views over his career and the context could be considered offensive by all. He's a big insult; he degrades women, disabled people, minorities, and whomever he disagrees with.

  • These J.Lo songs are a better example of uniting the races and genders than Rush Limbaugh? This owner - Jennifer Lopez - is a better example for the NFL than Rush?

And the game done chose me to bring pain to ni##as and pu##y holes, they one in the same. co-written by J-Lo

    also by J-Lo

    What's my motherf**kin' name? R-U-L-E

Blowin' back on this Mary Jane, I'm analyzin' the game

And the game done chose me

To bring pain to p***y n*****s and p***y hoes, it's one in the same.

  • ha ha. youre quoting JLO lyrics.. with that said, guess what. JLO and Fergie who probably know nothing about football are owners and rush who loves football and probably can tell you the history of the game is not an owner and never will be an owner. And its soooo sweet... NO NFL FOR RUSH mmm mmm mmmmm

  • Do liberals enjoy being hypocrites?

  • StooleWatcher,

i wouldnt know im not a liberal however based on facts and current events thats a question best ask of republicans.

If you one of those people whom are sad for rush limphog and his failure to be in the NFL, toughen up and stop crying.

No NFL for rush mmmm mmmm mmmm

  • Wait, wait, Fergie and J.Lo promoted sexual abuse of women? Does King know both these people are women?

  • He was refering to their actions. In fact, to infer that they are immune from derogatory remarks about women because they are women is sexist.
