Wonderful expression .. and equally wonderful rendition by the great Md. Rafi saab...!!!!

  • The woman in this song is kareena and karishma kapoors aunt, that is her mom Babita ji's cousin sadhana and then man in this video is kareena's uncle. The whole family in this video

  • Shammi kapoor was the original Rockstar

  • very good song

  • RIP Shammijee

  • Thanks for posting this. Beautiful Sadhana, handsome Shammi and the magic of Rafi saheb.

  • Awesome Rafi sahab...simply the best!!!

  • Stop this nonsense and listen to the voice of the magician. The ease with which he renders high as will as low notes is an out of this world experience.

  • Agree to disagree with all you guys .... dude ... just listen to Rafi sahab .... what a song and what a lovely lilting music !! Just stop argueing and listen to the gorgepus music !!

  • And also I called this "pseudo culture" because it is carrying psyche and culture in an unnatural direction and promises to make a mess of things (at least I personally think so). To see the results it would have for a well civilized society, one need not look further than the subculture groups from which it has originally sprung.

  • thanx for upload this song

  • bful song..... m almost lost wen i hear this song... thanx 4 uploading

  • Rafi Saab is brilliant in this song but why do we forget the immensely talented 'Shankar Jai kishen..? SJ jodi was able to extract the best out of Lata, Mukesh, Mohd. Rafi and many others purely on the basis of melody...

Let us not judge artists superior based on their religion. God knows all these artists never thought of religion while working with each other. Why should we so that. India is proud to have such greats as Rafi and we are proud of them as Indians first.

  • Are you sure this voice not from the heaven?

  • Sadhana was undoubtedly one of the most beautiful faces to grace Indian screen. Only Shammi could have given meaning to the beautiful lyrics by his actions. And of course, Rafi is lovely as usual. All together make this song timeless.

  • @Amit42415

I adore Sadhana. Look at her in the song 'Lag jaa gale'. She is in pure form of beauty.

But how about Shammi's styles, gestures? these days, it would be called 'gay' no? very feminine no?

I know those days, it was not considered this way, it was considered a playful nature and Shammi was a manly man, a manly actor and he was not gay but this style is outdated today?

  • @pearl1729 .. this would be going off the topic here... but those who term certain actions "gay", etc. are the ones most insecure of their own manliness... there is nothing unmanly about being a good actor or for that matter being expressive... i guess a pseudo culture has affected the male psyche

  • @Amit42415

I agree, I feel the same. I have no problem seeing this video and I don't call Shammi a gay. It would be 'stupid' to call him that. But still do you see today's actors doing those styles? do you personally manage to act that way? even you are romantic, would you be able to have those gestures?

Yes, pseudo culture has hijacked the male-pschye

  • @pearl1729 well i would not do those gestures because i dont like acting/ behaving that way (my head would go spinning if i jerked my head that many times)... but getting back to the point, i do not object to anyone (me or otherwise) doing them... but that doesn't mean everyone has to do them... the point is this has no connection whatsoever with anything like "gay" etc... that is all im saying...

  • @pearl1729 im not surprised you brought up this point: in fact, it is good someone did point it out, but i guess a lot of "mature" people understand about the 'pseudo culture' that exists around them and have just learnt to live in it but not necessarily upto it.. if i may ask, how old r u?

  • @Amit42415

I am not surprised that you think that way, I think the same, it's about pseudo culture or metro sexuality that changed the things, I don't believe it either. I think those days, it was considered playfulness, naughty and romanticism, today though they exist, onscreen it would be presented in a different ways, things change in time.

I am 29, why does it change? :D how old are you then?

  • @pearl1729 Well I call the current macho culture as the pseudo culture (metrosexuality is actually somewhat the opposite); this macho culture has sprung from certain culture groups in and around american society and spread itself through media (particularly hollywood) .. but this is in no way even the original american culture... compare the bodies of actors in hollywood films of the 60s to those of today and you will see what i mean...

  • @pearl1729 I asked about age because as we grow older, we tend to grow "wiser" (really?) and stop questioning.. so was just curious... i am also 29... i expected you would be around 22 :)

  • @pearl1729 - No, his mannerisms would not be called "gay" today.

  • nice song

  • Yesterday I was talkin about how rich Rafi sahib used to deliver in terms of expressions in his vocal.. See here (rather listen) another example of his masterly control over voice..giving everything a singer can render in one's voice..very little Shammi Kapoor had to do on-screen..everything was already conveyed to viewers n listeners..

    Dr.Bukhari

  • indescribable . marvallous, Rafi Saab you are the special creation of God. What a beatiful song , speechless. nothing to say more

  • One of my favorites. RIP Shammi.

  • wow....where are the romantic guys like Shammi Kapoor gone?

  • shammi is looking to good..... and Rafi sahab.... there is no need to say nything.... nice set, nice photography....

  • this song is messed up.. listen properly..

  • The song is excellent. Performance is pathetic. Just listening to it is enough to Southe your restless soul.

  • Thank you for putting this masterpiece on u tube. Rafi is singing to perfection and more. The voice is smooth and range is very high. This combination made him unique. Talat called Rafi the greatest singer of all times.

  • who is he referring to...himself?

  • GOLD!!!!
