  • It's astounding that so few people cheer for it

  • @JosiahTheBone they didnt have expansive musical minds u_u

  • I agree Nobou Uematsu and yasunori mitsuda is way better than some hollywood music composers

  • I really wish they had played a segment of Baba Yetu instead of whatever generic Grammy award music that was... would have been so epic!

  • Nervous hand gesture x7 at 1:35

  • @Dude902 He actually does the same hand gesture 8x. But who's counting? =P

  • YEAH BILL HARE. WOOOOOOO!!

  • Isn't it cool how a song written for a video game about history goes down in history as the first video game song to win a Grammy? :)

  • i think song from final fantasy should be known more esp. ff10 and ff7

  • AMAZING!!!! I loved this song the moment I saw the menu screen and couldn't continue until it ended.

  • I love that people in the audience cheered and clapped at the fact that it's the first time a video game song won a grammy.

  • people ask me what genre/kind of music i listen to... i tell them video game

  • i would listen to this song over and over, because i love it, and also to get me in the mood for the game

  • Like number 200 =)

  • Great song and more than worthy of this GRAMMY!

  • Great song, great composer, and great game.

  • Well deserved, Chris.

  • Congrats, Chris! A well-deserved award - and way to lead the way with grammys for video game music!

I had no idea Bill mixed your music. Fantastic gentleman, he is.

  • Way to go Chris! Reminds me of the old joke/review... this album REALLY needs more EPIC! LOL!

  • The only person I actually listen to that won a Grammy last night! Congratulations, it's truly a wonderful album.

  • A very deserved win! Great job Chris, and great song too :D

  • Good job Chris! and thanks for answering my stupid composition questions!

  • Well done Chris!!!

  • Chris, I'm SO HAPPY for you!!!!!!! You have made history my friend! Well done!!!

  • that cd is AMAZING! BUY IT, I HAVE WORN OUT AT LEAST 1 COPY OF MY ONE!!!!!!

  • Chris, you're 2- for-2 and I couldn't be happier. Congrats as well for your "Best Classical Crossover" album. Not just historic for the video game first. But you're the first truly indie artist to win 2 awards the same year. Amazon is sold out. Bet they'll be re-ordering real soon, real big.

  • Congratulations on the win! I've loved this piece of music ever since I heard it at VGL, and it totally deserves a Grammy!

Hopefully more video game music will be recognized from now on :)

  • Gratz! W00t!

  • You richly deserve this. Congratulations, Chris.

  • Nice job, Chris! Congrats!!

  • Hooray, Chris!

  • wtf is pretel

  • Congratulation Christopher Tin! This is a major step in video game history!

  • why the fuck do they not play the winning song to walk him to the stage?

  • It sounds like there were like 10 people in the audience.

  • A beautiful piece greatly deserving this award and any and all accolades it receives.

  • HOLY CRAP!!!

    Pretzel congratulations on making history

  • This is the dawning of a new era, where music from video games finally starts getting the respect it deserves. It's such a tragically underappreciated medium.

  • koji kondo should get 1 as well.

  • who is that emo host. does he think he's 13 with that hair? lol

  • @goatgoat That "emo" host is BT (Brian Transeau), one of the most influential electronic composers of the 90s and 2000s. He has always rocked that look, and his music is better and more original than anything that was played at the Grammy this past year, or in the past 10+ years.

  • @whatwhatwhat7 And one the more successful ones to boot!!

  • Congrats Tin =)

  • I'm shocked he didn't mention Talisman!

That's the group he sang with at Stanford and where the song came from.

Anyways, we Talisman loves you, Chris!!!

Come visit us!!!! We miss you!!!!!

  • @mahinaokalani It's really hard to find time to thank everyone. He didn't mention VGL either, so I'm sure he would have loved to mention Talisman if given the amount of time. Nonetheless it's a win for everybody who participated in the song's popularity included creators listeners.

  • Nice congratulations to him! I'm so glad video game music is being recognized. I would love to see Nobuo Uematsu win a grammy next!

  • I'm so glad he didn't slip on the stairs.

  • I find it frustrating that he gets a smattering amount of applause when he wins such a prestigious award. If Baby would have won I honestly think it would have been a much louder response, which is pretty sad.

Regardless, congrats to him and his achievement!

  • Say wha?

  • People like Yasunori Mitsuda and Nobueo Uematsu also deserve Grammys.

  • @evergrim

I think other video game composers like Nobuo Uematsu and Yasunori Mitsuda will need to release non-soundtrack albums in the U.S. in order to be considered for a Grammy.

  • Well I'll be...the very first time a video game song winning a Grammy...

This can't be called an "Epic Win", that dosen't exactly describe it...

    This is a HISTORIC WIN!

  • Just one of many reasons Civ IV > Civ V

  • @IdiotForPalin I wish I could upvote you more than once. I might have to make additional accounts.

  • @Truth3w3 I know it's natural to say, but you just said upvote. But this is youtube were it is called thumbs up.

  • @IdiotForPalin Am thinking about playing Civ again. Why pick IV over V?

  • @egretdingo Civ 5 was "casualized". It's not a bad thing for someone who's not used to Civ Games, which are kinda (really) complex. You don't just cheese units into oblivion kind of like in Starcraft...you need to THINK your actions and almost everything you do.

  • @Arquenemeh Oh man, and I thought Civ IV was already casualized. Not sure though, never really gave it a try. Thanks for the response. Am a SMAC player myself. Consider that one of the all-time best!

  • whats really funny s i don't think most of them know where this song comes from

  • After seeing that it's song got an award...maybe I should try playing Civilizations 4.

    ...meh.

  • The only thing that could have made this guy more badass is if he pulled out an ocarina and played Saria's Song.

  • 1:35 Amen sir

  • WHY YOU NO DOCTOR?!!?? WHY YOU NO A?!?
