I am not a climber, but since he weights 48 kg, then this means that he has to cope with 16kg per part of his body on average (2 legs+ 1hand or 1 leg 2 hands) assuming that one end (either 1hand or 1 leg) is on the air to allign into the next point . This sounds possible to resist for sometime.

And I think it would be harder to hide the fans than actually climb on the ceiling like this.

that's not possible, modern competitors are all youth, in their early twenties, he's like forty +. Their level of fitnes is very difficult to achieve at a later age, if not impossible. The way he chooses to climb really shows his mastery skills, and mental strenght!!!! the legend lives on

He's got a very particular set of skills that might not do him much good in climbing competition.

Big climbing competition nowadays are really hard, climbing pros like Dave Graham don't really enter *expecting* to win as some of the young kids are just really strong and particularly trained to win competition.

He would probably have to do 10 competition before being close to winning want... might as well do the thing he's the only one doing/capable of doing.
