  • WE CAN LEARN A-LOT FROM THESE FILMS - OPEN YOUR EYES PEOPLE..

  • 9:32 C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!!!!

  • @ 7:58 he (the knightrider) was outta control and thought he could outrun everybody!

  • They speak like a soft scottish accent.

  • 49 people disliked this clip? 49 people with no damn dicks

  • Just the sound of Max s other car before the Interceptor was pretty fuckin cool! When he started it up - MUSIC TO MY EARS!

  • You listening, Bronze? I am the Nightrider! I'm a fuel-injected suicide machine. I am a rocker! I am a roller! I am an out-of-controller! I am the Nightrider, baby... ... and it's me and my Marmaduke, and we ain't never coming back. The Toecutter, he knows who I am. I am the Nightrider! I am the chosen one, the mighty hand of vengeance... ... sent down to strike the unroadworthy! I'm hotter than a rolling dice. Step right up, chum, and watch the kid... ...lay down a rubber road right to freedom!

  • The power of a Ford Falcon with a 429 V8

  • @F150man1998 You mean a 351 Cleveland?

  • " I am the chosen one, the mighty hand of vengeance, sent down to strike the unroadworthy. "

The king kong for movie quotes.....

  • 0:54 " Rip the guts out of it "

    I missed Roop/Charlie in Max 2.

  • Pause at 9:33.

    Thumbs up

  • WTF in the 9:31???? It´s a Rocket car?

  • Super massa

  • "they didnt leave to much of him... poor bastard!"

"his name is the night rider."

  • Hey, Sarse, what's the form on this thing? A twisto bikey, scoot jockey. A few hours ago, down in Sun City, he goes berserk. Breaks custody, wastes a young probie and takes off in a Pursuit Special. We've been on him ever since. This one's right up the air, Roop. I've seen the style before. Terminal psychotic. What's he driving That's what hurts. It's one of our V8 s. Pursuit Special on methane. Very toey! My all time favorite police chase!!!
  • Great characters and names .... Max, Goose, Roop , Charlie , Toecutter , Night Rider , Bubba Zanetti , Cundalini, Mudguts, Sprog, Johnny The Boy, Labatouche, Grease Rat, May Swaisey.

  • LOL at the eyeballs 9.34

  • was night rider related to toe-cutter?

  • lol, look at that guys eyes at 9:34.75 lol, better be quick, its only on screen for a nanosecond

  • we really gona get it this time he had his indicater on.

  • I love this film, I love the way the MFP were portrayed as a futuristic, cash strapped rag tag bunch of fearless lawmen of the wastes driving around in their bashed, bruised and rough around the edges V8 powered coke bottles. There should have been more of a back story about the MFP, or maybe even a spin off film.

  • INTERCEPTOR!

  • what was up with the rocket propelled car right there at the end?

  • When will Mel make "What women want 2"? LOMAO!

  • Those Ford XB Falcon's are class! They were proper cars! Not like the rubbish of nowadays.

  • @kazimann haha your full of crap I could easily name ten cars made right now that are far better.

  • @TheDodgeChallenger What, some rubbish that's filled with electronic nonsense? Nothing will ever better an old school V8, easy to work on. No replacement for displacement.

  • @kazimann whatever you can think what you want but todays cars are just as good and most are better.

  • @TheDodgeChallenger Today's cars are just white goods on wheels. No way would a modern car last 25+ years, not without replaceing all the electrnoic chips and what not.

Older cars (80's and before) had great styling, they had soul. Modern cars are bland and all look the same. The Japs and Koreans are the worst for this.

  • @kazimann dude mustangs, challenger, camaros, porsches, audis, holdens ute( by the way youve been talking im sure you know about this) corvettes vipers pontiac trans am f bodys, and many more are cars that can really turn heads. and they are definetly not bland.its funny because fact is, MOST 80S CARS LOOK THE SAME!!!! the best cars from the 80s were camaros and a far away second was the fox body mustang(which is ugly as heck compared to any other mustang ever made).

  • @TheDodgeChallenger these cars were from the 70's

  • @MK360VAL I know but he said cars form the 70s 80s and 60s are all better than modern cars.

  • 47 people didn't pull the guts out of her, or give her the B'Jesus!

  • their job looks like fun

  • Turns the key; "OIL-ALT-BRAKE" lights quickly flash, and nonchalantly put it in drive... Cinematic awesomeness of a biblical scale ensues...

  • @bluetires12 ...THE opening sequence for ANY chase film!!!

  • Jewmerica:::u're fucked

  • This is what true australia is about-Not some fucking kookaburra in the background yapping and some dumbshit kangaroo hoping about! THIS IS TRUE TUFF AUSSIE STYLE!

  • 47 douchenozzles must be wrong

    long live the night rider

  • The punk girl is so incredibly cute. I like to think she didn't die and managed to roll out off camera into the desert land. She definitely didn't deserve to die.

  • Night Rider: "Do you see me Toecutter! Do you see me? I am the Night Rider, I'm a fuel injected suicide machine! I am a rocker, I am a roller I'm a controller, and we aint never coming back! The toecutter he knows who I am, I am the Night Rider, I am the chosen one,... I',m hotter than a rollin' dice, step right up kid lay down the rubber road ride to freedom."

  • For Christ Sake Shove over!!

You are a blasphemer.... I don't have to work with a blasfemer

I don't know man, I just got here myself

    We are 100% snafued

I'm a Night Rider... i'm a fuel injected suicide machine!!

    BEST QUOTES!!

  • saw the knight rider on wilson st about five mins ago

  • Best movie line ever. Goose "I don't know man I just got here myself"

  • Gotta love Goose :D

  • The Night Rider's "floozie" is played by Amanda Muggleton, now one of Australia's most popular and sought-after actresses. She also has a single-engine pilot's license. The bearded man with the apron (4:04) is James McCausland, one of the film's writers.

  • AZ. doesn't have fields of grass.

    But I get it overall.

  • come out to az and you will see the desert land scortching the land and the endless highways that no law can really control especially in that kind of post war depression....

  • Somthing tells me this is arizona and on the I-8 to yuma from gila bend......Don't fuck with the Mad Max...

  • @thepeach12345 all the max movies were filmed in australia

  • ''Do you see me Cutter? Do you see me maaann??? eee hahahaha!!!!!''

  • One of my favorite of all time movies. Plus one of my favorite chase scenes too.

  • My favorite movie of all time.

I would watch it with the Dolby audio track, and I don't mid the Kiwi accent dialogue.

My Un-Greatfull EX- has the move now, so I need to replace it.

    Damn Good Movie

  • NIGHT RIDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Toe-cutters car, the Monarro ALWAYS beat the Falcons at Bathurst which is the only race, and only thing that mattered back then.

  • The Aussies and the Americans have the most bad-ass looking cars to be found.

  • Aussies have the most brilliant accent of all English-speakers. I think that the UNESCO should consider the American dubbing a crime against world's culture!

  • The saloon police cars are 1974 Falcons XB, the Nightrider was driving a Holden, while the black pursuit special Mel later drives is a 1973 Falcon GT 351 with a non operational Weiand supercharger bolted on.

  • hemi cuda?

  • @rw5791 for falcon xb, first car to do a 1 2 finish

  • fantastic ....mel gibson so cool at the start of film

  • @FearEquality : During the ROAD WARRIOR?! That sounds like a clinical problem. ;]

  • Are the police cars Holdens ?

  • @Bag0fRats no

  • @tin701 I know the black V8 one is a Holden Monaro

  • @Bag0fRats yeh i think that is a HQ Monaro

  • @Bag0fRats what are they then , Fords ? Or Aussie Chryslers ?

  • @Bag0fRats They are Ford XB falcons, also aussie cars

  • @Bag0fRats the yellow mfp cars are ford capris

  • @buttchy78 Capris ? I thought Capris were sporty coupes made in the UK and Germany. Kind of like the European Mustang on a Cortina chassis.

  • omfg 7:54 the sound...almost have ano orgasm

  • I'm a rocker, I'm a roller, I'm a right out of controller

  • @cryingmushroom47 : "I'M A FUEL-INJECTED SUICIDE MACHINE!!!" I have moments like that, and my friends just stay away from me for a while. ;]

  • @buzzclick500 ahhaa, i only quoted it because it's from an AC/DC song and i love AC/DC.

  • The goose bumps never stop with this movie. ;]

  • @FearEquality : There's a difference between falling asleep and passing out. ;]

  • Have you got any idea what it takes to get a Monaro to skip like that?! They strapped a solid fuel rocket engine onto the car for that scene.

  • @wiskybiz : Are you serious?!

  • I bet it is Jeremy Clarkson's favourite scene at 6:06! :D

  • "I am Night Rider.. A Fuel injected Suicide!!!

  • The best pursuit scene ever.............

  • LTS Sirens

    Fire Trader Australia

  • Mel Gibson rules he should be given a academy for his relationship skills he has

  • @neil7025 : Mel Gibson yelling at his poor, defenseless wife. Tsk, tsk, tsk. ;]

  • max is hard ass

  • You should see the damage bronze .

  • Love those police cars. I hate modern cars- they all look like inflatables.

  • @adeworks : So, I'm NOT the only one who noticed... ;]

  • maaaaaad maaaaaaaaXXXXXXX!!!!!!

  • around when the night rider crashes you can see the recycled bulging eyes clip from the end

  • For some reason, the American dialogue dub works better for this scene. The night rider doesn't sound as menacing in the original version.

  • @southport97 You would say that because your American.

  • @MyMerlin1 you're

  • shit ,that brings back memories, watching the dvd in 5.1 surround will blow ya away,

    can't wait

  • Did the sedans have 351 V8s as well? They must have been a blast to drive.

  • Comment removed

  • Alot of people don't notice that the street signs at 1:27 read "Anarchy & Bedlam".

  • Best thing for caravans..Goose is still a legend..

  • 0:55 has to be one of the best lines ever.

  • wha kinda car is max driving now not the falcon but the yellow and blue cop car

  • Comment removed

  • @pr7820 No. They refer to the cops as bronze in the movie because that's the colour of their badge; a bronze badge that looks like the one on the side of the car

  • @Mechknight73 : I like the term "millicents" for cops in "A Clockwork Orange". ;]

  • @pr7820 The IRS equivalent is simply called the Australian Taxation office or ATO for short here. The Monaro is a '72 HQ model. I can tell by the clear lenses on the front indicators. in 1973 they changed to orange ones because of a design rule

  • 4:14 " They're headed for population! "

  • Best chase seen ever. Gotta love the Night Rider, the ORIGINAL Night Rider that is!

  • I always liked the night rider. he's a fuel injected suicide machine after all...

  • mfp mother fuckin police

  • @15mroush Main Force Police

  • @fixitdude74 thought it was 'Main Force Patrol', but I could be wrong...it's been a while!

  • @DexterFishbourne your right, i was wrong!

  • shockin film

  • What are the sedans?

  • @pilatunes the MFP sedans are 'XB' Ford Falcons (1974 model)

  • @DexterFishbourne The sedan that ends up through the caravan is an XB. Max's yellow "Interceptor is an XB. The car that gets flipped onto its roof is an XA Falcon

  • Not wearing shoes, classic!

  • nice eyes at 9:34 :P

  • and not a swear word anywhere

  • That crazy redhead is hot. 6:10

  • I love it when "The Nightrider" starts breaking down and crying like a bitch near the nine minute mark...

  • @CitySkin09 That's the only mistake they made in the whole script, all the bad guys are a little too wimpy

  • HOLY SHIT!!! This is straight fucking adrenaline. I gotta see this movie again.

  • I don't like the Austrailian accent version

  • @thomasward00 I would hate the yank version. This is the original

  • Roop and Charlie in the " Big Bopper " car are hillarious. The ultimate odd couple. 5:11 - Roop - " SHUT UP!!! " 5:16 Charlie - " No,No we're not going on " Roop - " Of course i'm going on!! " 5:40 Charlie - " Stay off the roads " Roop - SHUT UP!!!,SHUT UP!!! " 6:06 Charlie's expression, before they hit the trailer is priceless. 6:31 Roop - " Main Force Patrol we're out of the game, unable to continue pursuit. You better send a meat truck, Charlie's copped a saucepan in the throat. "

  • I am Moving to Australia lol.

  • love the ending He went from "The Nightrider" To "the NightFlyer" lol Great Classic Wish they would do 1 More

  • Great cars and great chase scene but rest of the movie was not exactly my type of film but it's an original..No talking dog's or fanticrap...

  • I N T E R C E P T O R. Horsepower: unknown. Top speed: unknown. Primary use: curtailing the aggressive and intrusive activities of socially-misaligned individuals and groups.

  • He was the Night Rider, but now he's Fireball XL-5 butcher-shop City. ;]

  • What cars are these? What years?

  • @culcun Australian muscle cars, Ford Falcon, Holden Monaro. Mad Max's car has a Ford 351Cleveland, using the US built engine block with Australian heads.

  • @ultrachasersfan The 4-door were Monaros, correct?

  • @culcun no other way around, The nightrider is a HQ Monaro.

  • @culcun The black coupe is a '72 HQ Holden Monaro, Max's car is a '74 XB Ford Falcon, The one Roop and Chealie are driving is a '74 XB, and the one that lands on its roof is an '73 XA Ford Falcon

  • @Mechknight73 Thanks for that. I has thought the 4 doors were Holdens--now I remember, Torana, not Monaro, but they were all Fords, so that shows me! Last time I think back to the Street Machine Magazines my father used to bring me on his business trips to Australia, LOL

  • @culcun Actually, both Toranas and Monaros came in two and four door versions. Later model Toranas were hatchbacks, and they were blindingly fast.

  • @Mechknight73 I guess I didn't pay as much attention to the Aussie hot rod magazines that my dad used to bring to me. That and the fact that your cars had too many letter names following the car model name (i.e. Falcon GTHOXYZPDQ), LOL. Recently, it got easy with the Holden Monaro/Pontiac GTO and the Holden Commodore/Pontiac G8, but I am sure that even those had alot of letters after their names in Australia :)

  • @culcun : I think one's a 2159 Lenzt-Carnivara, with triple-ported Max-Out rotary-assisted ultra vacuum venturis, and the classic one-twist nitro-injection shift handle. ;]

  • @buzzclick500 Isn't rotary-assisted ultra vacuum venturis also commonly known as warp factor 8? C'mon, any self respecting 8 year old knows that......lol

  • say together hyahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

  • Big Boppa to mach hair....where still in the game ok!.........This movie has more epic one liners than all the Schwarzanegger films put together!!

  • Notice how Max's car says "Interceptor" on the back and the other two MFP cars say "Pursuit." Max is the man!!! And I love the Goose, "nothing a year in the tropics wouldn't fix."....LOL!!!!!!!!!!

  • @superhornet69 Remember...the "interceptor" is the one with the "super-charger" installed in it,...top speed unlimited.

  • @superhornet69 : I like the way the camera pans up from the ground over the back of the car. COOL.

  • shame its the yank over dub not the original australian sound track. ruined again by america

  • @stoo1974 : Yeah. Can we leave ANYTHING alone? I can listen to Australians talk for hours. Coolest accent in the world.

  • @buzzclick500 ...For some reason I just love how both of the tow-trucks just go haulin' ass out of the parking lot of the diner, even before the Goose is on his bike! Like you can just see those tow-truck drivers going." Holy shit, Billy Bob, this is gonna be good one!!" And then my other favorite line is right after the Goose crashes and Max asks if he's ok. In typical Goose style he says, "nothing a year in the tropics wouldn't fix!" ...LOL!!

  • @superhornet69 : And the van being wasted, spinning and STAYING UPRIGHT! I wonder if they did that in one take? WOW.

  • @buzzclick500 ...Yeah, that is a kick-ass crash! And what 's great is how the Pursuit car starts up again, then Charlie goes, "we're really gonna get it this time,he had his indicator on."....too fucking funny!! I love the phrases the Night Rider keeps spouting off too, likes he's crazed on meth or something. "I'm a fuel-injected, suicide machine!" That is great stuff! Sure wish they could do another film and show the time in between this and the Road Warrior more, like as the decline gets worse

  • @buzzclick500 Hard to say if it was in one take. The Datsun Homer vans weren't known for their cornering ability, but they didn't weigh much

  • @superhornet69 That's standard practice in Australia. Towtrucks in urban areas are usually armed with scanners to track the police frequencies

  • @buzzclick500 I have a US copy of this film, and it is dubbed over by US accents. I believe this one is original. The dubbed version I have is actually an interesting way of watching the film. The actors kind of over do the voice-overs, and it makes it into an almost different film altogether--kind of taking this cult film, and making it a different cult film. If I can dig out the copy (and the VHS), I'll post some parts of it.

  • you better send a meat truck charlies copped a saucepan in the throat

  • lame.

  • In my opinion the most breathtaking action film ever made !

  • @omegamann71 And one of the BEST ever posters!!!!! The futuristic cop with gun in hand is immortal

  • @clintbronson5 You' re absolutely right ! Best wishes ...

  • quite cool, I've never seen this but I must =P thanks for uploading.

  • I love this movie..

  • Like the way the 4 wheels blow into the air in the explosion

  • the soundtrack is the wrong 1 there wer 2

  • @j1701why Really? Is the one on here American or Austrialian?

  • @ludwigvan17 This is is the original aussie version

  • @theoldgalah Thought so.

  • Great scene, great movie. Enough said. The stunt work in this movie and the sequel were just fabulous...no terrible CGI.

  • @Quarkt Not available, and even if it was, Byron Kennedy and Geroge miller (producer and director) couldn't afford it anyway. It cost them about $300,000 in 1979, but made them a small fortune
