Got a job in a bus factory in the Midlands. Probably was made redundant in the early eighties and did another stint driving buses before retiring.

The idea that a chubby, sweaty Brylcreem'd Reg Varney (in his 50s but supposed to be in his early 30s) and a pigeon-chested, camel-toothed Bob Grant were irrestible targets for a sucession of sex-mad and/or marriage-minded young clippies was absurd - if not faintly nauseating.

ur right mate the women who played mum at the first few episodes of on the buses was a women called cicely courtneidge at da time doria hare wasnt available so they hired cicely courtnidge untill doris finished her work off her other programmes
