It was a card protector of sorts, tournament chips have no cash value so there's no reason TO steal a chip off the table.

Daniel called knowing it was POSSIBLE Nguyen had the straight, but he didn't figure he would have raised pre-flop with Q-J AND bet the flop that strongly. It was a POSSIBLE hand, but not a likely hand.
