Very nice -.- a whole article to tell that rippetoe didn't gave him muscle growth he wanted while rippetoe is about strength training...
Anyway, rippetoe worked perfectly for me to gain a lot of strength on the big execercises which helped me to train heavier later on in my split workouts.
@gillianhaarloo Dude you lifting some pathetic weights in your room using some bench and racks that will break any minute. Deadlifting small plates and on top of that you are talking how good the overrated SS program is. What I hate the most is the fact that Rippetoe used Crossfit to make his shit popular and then all of a sudden started talking shit about it once he was famous enough not to need the advertisement anymore. There's nothing special about SS - overhyped routine. U mad bro ?
Mad? what are you talking about? Such a pity that there's some many people like you who cannot talk with a just a little bit of respect on internet. Just disagreeing on something doesn't mean you should immediatly hate people for it? I'll help you: next time just post a comment which looks something more like this:
"Read this article, I think rippetoe is not a very good way to be training. How does it work for you and tried other methods already"?

So my answer to your question that i corrected for you:
A few years later now, training in a proper gym (and lifting quite some different weights than you see here), I am using very different training methods than the rippetoe you see on this vid. Rippetoe is one of the methods i tried back then (why not) and it actually helped me to gain some strength. I am however not saying that is 'the' best training program i ever did.
what this video forgot to mention is that with rippetoe workout you MUST move up weight each workout session. Even if you move up 1 kg per workout thats fine but its essential that u move up weight
I am always bulking. I used rippetoe to get back my strength and shape after a few months off. I gained around 10 pounds in 6 months. Eating enough calories of course.
It is a combined bench and squatrack. A very old one which my father used in his younger years. For the dips I add 2 steel supports from my work which were used to put a table on. If I'd buy a homegym now, I'd buy a powerrack and a bench. You can do pretty much everything with that equipment.

Nice video my man. I am thinking of also setting up a home gym similar to yours. What equipment are you using for the combined squat, press and dips?
