MORMONS SAY JESUS WAS BORN IN JERUSALEM AND NOT BETHLEHEM. ITS IN THE BOOK OF MORMON -Alma 7:10. DOES THIS PROVE THE BOOK OF MORMON IS TRUE OR A BIG PROOF OF A LIE? A DIFFERENT JESUS?
The Savior warned that even those of the covenant could be deceived by the enemy of truth. Be humble enough to meditate, ponder, study it out, pray, and ask God what is right. The conscience and the light God gave you will whisper truth to you in your heart and in your mind and there will be no doubt that the same glorious Jesus who is recorded in the Holy Bible is recorded in the Holy Book of Mormon. It's true. It is the same.
I am a LDS Mormon member and the Holy Bible is the key to understand the prophecies about Book of Mormon and The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Dday Saints.
@LDS4Life71 Why am I ignorant and hateful for questioning your religion? The Mormon god did lie...he commanded the early Mormons to practice the illegal act of Polygamy...and then a few short decades after changed his mind
@fatimasadrcity Because Mormons are told to obey the law of the land, and polygamy was against the law of the land. Though no mormons are encouraged to have plural wives, it is the law of heaven. And most people look at polygamy in the wrong way. If anyone has been alone, they know how sad a person gets without someone there. God commands for polygamy so that every woman will have someone to take care of her.
@Fuhgeddaboudit94 why did Gordon Hinkley say "This church has nothing to do with polygamy"...why does the LDS church fail to mention that Joe had 33 wives?
@fatimasadrcity Because technically, the church doesn't have anything to do with Polygamy anymore. When the LDS church wanted to establish the state of Utah, they were told that they couldn't practice polygamy anymore. Joseph was married to his wives before that.
@Fuhgeddaboudit94 I agree with you, however, if you read through the posts to my questions on this matter, you will see how Mormons dance around the questions, evade and cloud the truth, then in the end admit that yes....the church still believes in the practice of plural marriage
@fatimasadrcity Well, ya, we still believe in the practice of Plural marriage, but we don't actually practice it because it is against the law. I don't think it's that complicated or that we "dance around" anything. It's not like it's illegal to believe in polygamy...
@fatimasadrcity He was just trying to say that those people who do have multiple wives in this time are not LDS. And we only believe we're Christians in the way that we believe in Christ as the eternal son of God the Father.
@Fuhgeddaboudit94 Funny how LDS INC goes out of their way to distance them selves from their own ridiculous doctrine while at the same time sending out thousands of missionaries every year
Guess the suits in Salt Lake City need to hoodwink as many as possible in order to keep the cash flowing in...too bad all the Kolob, tokens, hand shakes, underpants, plural wives, white and delightsome, golden plates, sword carrying angels, lack of ANY evidence of the BOM etc etc stuffs all over the internet!!
@fatimasadrcity The leaders of the church and the missionaries don't get a penny of anything donated to the church. It is used for building churches, temples and for the church's welfare program. Having said that, why don't you act Christ-like and leave all criticsms and judgements to God. I'm sure your time will be better served allieviating the sufferings and burdens of those around you instead of arguing on youtube. And have a very happy Christmas. :)
@Fuhgeddaboudit94 So you don't consider the leaders salaries, expense accts., free family ed. at BYU... taking a "penny" from tithing coffers? Or the $3 billion mall in SLC, Florida ranches, Hawaiian condos..., a misallocation of the Lord's cash? Jesus would be ashamed of how little of your churches $billion+/yr intake goes to the poor. Like other churches leaders, yours are no different. They live quite handsomely on your tithing. They don't pay it; they collect it!
@LDS4Life71 Only Mormons believe that god commanded polygamy...as per Joseph Smiths "revelations"...Christians believe marriage to be between one man and one woman
@LDS4Life71 Why did Hinkley say "Polygamy is behind us....we've moved on...anyone practicing polygamy is excommunicated" if it is still LDS doctrine...admit it sir...its still LDS belief, but it doesn't suite the churches desire to appear to be Christian...God NEVER commanded polygamy and you know it
@LDS4Life71 Can't a Mormon every answer a straight question? why does the LDS church try to distance itself from Polygamy????????? Shouldn't there web page on Joseph Smith address the fact he had many wives instead of just Emma?
@LDS4Life71 It is LDS doctrine...great...finally a Mormon who will be open about it...so why do the suits in Salt Lake go to such lengths to distance themselves from Polygamy? Why don't they mention on their website that Joseph Smith had 33 wives? Why???????
@LDS4Life71 No where in the Old testament does god command polygamy....I agree God is not a changeable God...but the Mormon God seems to be....why under the teachings of Old Joe does God command plural marriage for a few short decades? No one on this thread will answer why the mainstream LDS church doesn't fess up that YES plural marriage is and remains LDS doctrine?
@LDS4Life71 So if the Lord restores Plura Marriage, and the doctrine of Plural Marriage is still LDS doctrine (d&c 132) why does the LDS church go to such lengths to distance itself from the practice? why not be truthful on their website and state correctly that Joseph Smith hat 33 wives, not just one? There are countless numbers of LDS leaders making public statements that "There is no such thing as Mormon Polygamy" "We have nothing to do with polygamy" etc etc
It was against the law when Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were practicing it as well...."It will not always be the law of the land"...so you admit that Plural Marriage is still LDS Doctrine? why doesn't the church fess up with the truth then? Why does their website state Joseph Smith only had one wife???
@LDS4Life71 I haven't heard that any artefacts of the BOM have ever been found..the only thing that really bothers me about the LDS church is their history of polygamy. Joseph Smith brought forth this practice and the pain and abuse it has caused is still happening today. the "fundies" really believe that it is necessary to gain exaltation and i believe the mainstream church should help these people instead of trying to distance itself from them, afterall, it is still in your doctrine isn't it?
@LDS4Life71 And didn't Joseph Smith receive revelation to practice polygamy? How can the polygamists groups be wrong when they are practicing what he taught as an everlasting principle?
@LDS4Life71 Are the polygamist mormons apostates? They say the mainstream LDS are the apostates because they don't follow the original teachings of Joseph Smith
Thank you so much dear Elder Holland! Indeed, the book of mormon is the word of God. It has blessed my life and continually blesses it each time me and my wife read it. . I exhort those who haven't read it yet to do so and ask Heavenly Father if it's true or not in the of our Master Jesus Christ. BUT ASK IN FAITH NOT WAIVERING.I PROMISE IF YOU DO SO, GOD WILL MANIFEST IT UNTO BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST...
its unbelievable how mormons paint Joseph Smith as such a moral man...he created an convenient "revelation" from god ordering him to take multiple wives
the lds website is deceptive...claiming he was devoted to his "wife" ...which wife? Emma Smith? what about the other 33 wives he had
I find it so entertaining how the modern LDS church tries to distance itself from the fact that Joseph Smith was an adulterer
@rambojoe2323 Please supply scripture in the BIBLE where God "COMMANDS" polygamy....doesn't exist...however, further to your point you were trying to make... why doesn't the LDS Website tell the truth about Old Joe's roving eyes for other women? At least these wacky "fundamentalists" like the FLDS and AUB etc don't hide the truth about Mormon doctrine....(their all over each other like a box of hamsters though...disgusting people...tune into Sister Wives and see them in action)
@fatimasadrcity have you even read the bible? have you ever read about the concubines? im not mormon and i know that there was ploygamy in the bible you retard
@bryantj3 Show me scripture where God commands the practice of Polygamy in the bible...ask the Mormons about Joe's wacky story about an Angel with a sword threatening poor old Joe with death and damnation if he refused to 'marry' other chicks
Read the Old Testament and you will find the practice of Polygamy everywhere. The purpose of Polygamy is to take care of the women and to raise seed unto the Lord. You sound like a God fearing, Bible going person so I am surprised you even had to ask! :)
@sportsislife45 Of course you find the practice of polygamy in the old testament...you find all sorts of human behavior...but like all Mormons...you can't come up with any scripture that proves God COMMANDED it....the only scripture that commands men to take plural wives is MORMON....ie D&C Section 132....who brought Polygamy to North America? it was your over sexed Prophet who you paint as a moral and righteous man...33 wives! Mormons named their university after a man with 55 wives..SICK SICK
@fatimasadrcity LoL WOW you must play a lot of poker, but I do as well. Find me a scripture in the Bible where God "COMMANDS" specifically that we get married before we have sex? Good luck on that because you won't find anything, BUT remember there are many scriptures that talk about it and are OBVIOUSLY telling us that God has a law of chastity and he wants us to not have sex until we are married. Your Full House was nice, but I think my Flush of Hearts wins ;)
@sportsislife45 we aren't talking about sex before marriage...the topic is how the LDS church is painting its founding "Prophet" as a righteous and moral man when in fact he was a POLYGAMIST...why was Joseph Smith a Polygamist? and why does the Mormon church try to hide the truth? Why does the Mormon.org website claim he was a devoted husband to his "wife" not "wives" Did he or did not claim to have received revelation from God himself to practice polygamy? YES or NO?
@fatimasadrcity Actually the topic is....Why does there have to be a "Specific Command" in the scriptures for something to be true??? According to your logic, there are thousands of gospel based principles that could come into question and doubt simply because there are no "Specific Commands" from God saying that they are true. So in reality that destroys faith because isn't faith based on a hope in God and things that are not seen but are true. Seriously common now LoL
@sportsislife45 Nice try...why can't you answer the question? Why was Old Joe a polygamist? Why does the church state on their page on him as having 1 wife? Your church named a university after a man who had 55 wives!! Explain that if you can..BY taught you are damned if you deny polygamy "The only men who become Gods, even the Sons of God, are those who enter into polygamy"
Who are the true mormons? LDS INC, FLDS? AUB? Who has it right?
@fatimasadrcity He had many wives for the same reasons as Abraham, Issac, Jacob, King David(should I go on with Old Testament Prophets who had many wives??) It was ordained of God and if you weren't so Biased towards the LDS Church you might understand the reasons why there were times when it was necessary especially during the early days of the LDS Church. When there are more women then men, it allows the women and their children to be taken care of thus avoiding poverty and other conditions
@sportsislife45 So you are telling me God Commanded Abraham, Issac, Jacob, David, Joseph Smith and Brigham Young to practice Polygamy? Can you back this up with scripture? (Biblical scripture...not the D&C nonsense)
@fatimasadrcity LoL your argument is ridiculous and driven by your biased feelings towards the LDS Church. If polygamy is so "SICK" as you described it then why would a Prophet of God(Abraham, Issac, Jacob, David) practice it? If you truly believe the Bible then you can't deny the fact these men were Prophets of God and did great works for the world to further God's Kingdom. Do you honestly believe they would practice polygamy if God didn't command them and it was wrong? Seriously common sense!!
@sportsislife45 Again...please provide Scriptural reference that shows Polygamy was A COMMANDMENT given by God in the Bible...you can't, so point the finger back at me. Did Joe receive his "revelation" from God re: Celestial Plural Marriage OR NOT????????? I'm starting to sort of believe that the FLDS, AUB, the incestuous Kingston Clan etc are right when they state the LDS church is in a state of apostasy...at least they practice what Old Joe actually taught as everlasting (as icky as it was)
@fatimasadrcity I can provide scriptural reference but do I really need to do it for you?? Let me ask you this....Do you believe in the Old Testament Prophets?? Apparently not because they practiced polygamy which makes you ill.Whether or not you believe God commanded it or not is irrelevant because the issue is that you are disgusted with polygamy. If so then surely you must not believe in the Prophets of old. Surely you must only believe in certain aspects of the Bible and not the entire thing
@sportsislife45 Yes please...do provide scripture in the Bible that proves Polygamy was a commandment from God.....if it wouldn't be too much trouble for you I notice how when asked difficult questions, Mormons have a habit of trying to turn the tables on the non Mormon instead of simply addressing the uncomfortable Church doctrine the church tries to sweep under the rug...WHY DOESN'T THE LDS WEBSITE MENTION JOE'S OTHER WIVES ON THEIR WEBPAGE THAT PAINTS HIM AS SUCH A MORAL MAN? WHY? WHY? WHY?
@fatimasadrcity There you go again. Your biased feelings are just clouding your abilities. Your assuming that I am Mormon just because I am defending their faith.I just can't keep doing this. Your on an agenda and that is to tear down the faith of the LDS Church. Isn't that contrary to what the Bible and the Lord teach us? Its ok to disagree and not accept doctrines of other churches but if we are tearing down their faith then we are going against the Lord's command to love everyone. **Sigh**
@sportsislife45 Why can't you answer a simple question? The only agenda I am on is to find out why the LDS church is deceptive about their founding "prophets" history? Why does the page devoted to him paint him as a devoted husband to his "wife" when we all know it was "wives"? Talk about clouding the issue Sir!
@fatimasadrcity First off, why do you automatically assume they are being deceptive? Its a home page for their "basic beliefs." A lot of businesses and other religions have the same approach. They share their basic belief's which are usually the most important. They do this hoping people will want to learn more and that is when they get in touch with representatives or even just locals and learn more. Is that really being deceptive?? I wouldn't say it is.
@sportsislife45 Go have a look at their page on old Joe....He was dedicated to his "wife" and children...no mention of his stunning revelation where god commands him to practice polygamy...not a word about his 33 other wives...I would say that deceptive is a very accurate word to use to describe this...why doesn't the church just fess up instead of trying to hide their embarrassing past?
@fatimasadrcity Again how is that deceptive?? He was dedicated to his wife and children. He did everything he could to provide for them and protect them. Again those who want to learn more about the LDS Church and Joseph Smith usually meet up with the missionaries or friends they have that are members so they can learn more. Ask any member of the LDS Church about Joseph Smith and polygamy and they will explain it straight up without trying to hide anything or be embarrassed.
@sportsislife45 I had a missionary a few weeks ago tell me that he did NOT practice polygamy...I think your church would gain a little more respect if it didn't try to hide its very peculiar doctrine....i.e. baptizing dead people, secret masonic handshakes in order to get into heaven, Planet Kolob (my personal favorite) and the very nasty practice of marrying as many women as you can ....Old Joe even married women that were already married...explain that?
@fatimasadrcity You must be very naive to take what 1 missionary said as valid and that it stands for the official doctrine of the church(although I slightly don't blame you because missionaries are official representatives of the church) And baptizing dead people?! Really?! That is blatantly twisting what they do and even what they call it to sound horrible. They call it Baptizing FOR the Dead. Obviously there is a big difference there. Also, they baptize living people for someone who has died
@sportsislife45 Baptising dead people is the same as baptising for the dead...it isn't the dead's choice to be baptised...its LDS Inc that chooses to do so....read up on how they were baptizing Holocaust victims...you claim not to be a member but you sure do jump to their defence while also claiming not to know their doctrine...interesting
@fatimasadrcity Secret handshakes to get into heaven? Really? LOL! That is so ridiculous it made laugh a ton!! So did your comment about Kolob. Also, the church never practiced marrying as many women as possible. Joseph Smith did marry a women who was already married but guess what? Her husband had already died whether it was to mob violence or disease. It boggles my mind that you and many other people are so gullible to believe whatever you hear about the LDS Church from non-credible sources.
@sportsislife45 Signs and tokens in the temple....first and second tokens of the Aaronic Priesthood, Sure sign of the nail, patriarchal grip etc... you deny these? If I Could Hie to Kolob? And how many women did he marry? Brigham Young had at least 55 wives...and where can i find a museum that had book of mormon artifacts on display?????????
@fatimasadrcity I am not a member of the LDS Church so how could I deny what you are talking about when I HAVE NO IDEA what your talking about. Nearly every religion has a temple or a sacred building where they perform ceremonies or practices that they hold dear to their hearts. It's absolute garbage for anyone to even talk about, mention, or tear down part of another religion's practices/beliefs. I don't give a damn if you think its weird or cult like. I am done as this is going nowhere.
@sportsislife45 Why would their handshakes, masonic rituals, planet kolob etc make you laugh if you have not idea of what i am talking about????? Look sir...we live in an open society where no political or religious belief is exempt from critique...especially one that claims it is the only "True" Church and all else are wrong
@myway43 Why do people who question the validity of the Mormon church and question their very strange doctrines have a "big problem"? Are we not allowed to question the LDS faith?
@fatimasadrcity Sure you can question it, please feel free to. The problem is when you get on here and start trolling with your version of truth. You don't like our Church? , Fine , please feel free to move on. but you don't , you continue on. We have all heard it before. Do you think you are the first to bring some type of self proclaimed truth to Y.T.? Get over yourself, your not that impressive. So now there you have it. Please move on. I am not requiring you to continue your efforts.
@myway43 I don't have to move on...I won't move on until I get the answer I was looking for...WHY DOES THE LDS WEBSITE PAGE ON JOSEPH SMITH FAIL TO MENTION HE WAS A POLYGAMIST????? WHY IS YOUR CHURCH DECEPTIVE ABOUT ITS DOCTRINE AND HISTORY?
@fatimasadrcity Once again, and I refuse to go round and round about it. The Church does not deny the past of polygamy. In the past there were polygamous marriages...SO WHAT! Polygamy was discontinued in 1890. Grow up for crying out loud. Our Church does not deny anything. Are you waiting around for an apology from the Church about polygamy? Not going to happen.
@myway43 I'm waiting for the church to be responsible and honest about the fact that their beloved founding prophet is not what they paint him to be. I'm waiting for the LDS church to do something about the misery Joseph Smiths revelation commanding the practice of polygamy has created. There are thousands of Mormons following the "principle" which is an abusive life of bondage and pain. Who created this problem? Joseph Smith did
I can testify to you that our Church has truly been a God send to me. This gospel has pulled me up and has truly changed my life. Joseph Smith was a Prophet, and we have a Prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, a good and holy man. Elder Holland has always been one of my favorites. He always has good and timely instruction for all who care to hear. I have been to a lot of churches, but this Church gave me something none of the others could. I sought answers form others to no avail.
@fatimasadrcity The Church does not distance itself at all about polygamy at all. Polygamy was allowed for a short time. Polygamy was then discontinued after 1890. Do you at least read up on history before you post this stuff? It is history, gone, old hat, yet folks like you still bring it up with hopes to discredit the LDS Church.
@myway43 Your church is deceptive...Joseph Smith was "devoted" to his "wife" and children....what a load of crap....if my husband was sleeping with other women, I wouldn't claim him to be "devoted" to me would I?
@fatimasadrcity Then I was directed to this Church. Answers were given freely. I now know who I am, I know why I am here, I know my purpose in life. You can argue until your blue in the face, fine, I hope that serves you well. I have a testimony of the truth of this gospel of Jesus Christ and no one can take that away from me. So feel free to talk about whatever, but the truth far outshines your efforts. This gospel brings happiness and joy to millions around the world.
@myway43 Your church has also created a whole lot of misery....check out Warren Jeffs, the FLDS, Bountiful in Canada, the Apostolic United Brethren, the Kingston Group just to name a few....all of these groups claim priesthood authority...all of them claim to be the only "True" Church...all of them follow the same doctrine as the mainstream LDS church...the Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price and the D&C
The abuse in this groups are horrible..and who taught them Polygamy? (Old Joe Smith)
@fatimasadrcity Misery, .. that's a laugh. The Churches you have mentioned have absolutely nothing to do with the LDS Church. I am starting to doubt your integrity in this debate. Do you get all of your "facts", from anti-Mormon youtube videos? tsk, tsk, tsk, shame on you.
@myway43 How do they have nothing to do with the LDS church? They are following true Mormonism as taught by your founding leader...a man your church holds in the highest esteem. They follow the exact same doctrine and scripture...and like your church...each of these groups claim they are the only "True" church..shame on you for following a prophet that was a pervert...tell the truth LDS INC!!
@fatimasadrcity I watch as the Church helps all people, how they're humanitarian efforts feed the hungry, help the sick and heal broken hearts. I have met a family of caring people who are ready to serve and assist at the drop of a hat always with a smile, yet you have a problem with that? I have a better life than I have ever had. What do you have?
@myway43 Lots of people and organizations assist in humanitarian efforts all over the world who aren't Mormons....what do I have? I have an excellent education, common sense, and an unpolluted mind free of superstition, lies and mythology....Look at all of the comments i have made on this thread and still no one will tell me why the LDS website fails to mention Joseph Smith had over 33 wives..is it too much to ask of the only True Church?
@fatimasadrcity I tell you what, I wouldn't go about bragging of an excellent education, or your idea of common sense. So polygamy isn't mentioned on the Church website, big whoop. The better question would be why should the Church put anything about the practice of polygamy on they're website? A discontinued practice since 1890. I have more than adequately proved my point here.
@myway43 You don't think its important for the church to tell the truth about its history? I would suggest that your church is in permanent damage control mode when it comes to the truth....the FLDS, AUB, etc etc embarrass the church and they are the ones who at least have the courage to practice an "everlasting" principle as taught by old JOE even though its illegal and very abusive...your church has a moral obligation to help put a stop to a practice your prophet created
@rambojoe2323 Well I'm not finding a "thou shalt" in the Bible or BOM, but read Gen 25:1. to say that God doesn't approve of plural marriage would make the ancient prophets adulterous. God made provisions in their time, there were also provisions in the early days of the restoration. I'd like to see documentation of "old Joe's roving eyes". I think you'd be much more likely to find an ACCREDITED historical record about how Joseph initially was resistant to the commandment. I know my religion.
@rambojoe2323 Now its God doesn't "Approve:" of Plural Marriage.....the other Mormon guy claimed he COMMANDED it
Why does Mormon.org's page on Joseph Smith say he was dedicated to his wife? why doesn't it mention the fact that he had 33 wives? What's LDS Inc trying to hide? I've had Mormon missionaries tell me me he wasn't a polygamist
@fatimasadrcity We may not understand certain events in the past - I know I don't totally understand polygamy - but I promise that if you read the Book of Mormon with an open heart, the Spirit will testify to you that it is true. You can't let things you don't understand get in the way of your understanding of the things that are the most important in life.
And yeah, not all of the 19-year-old boys are perfect scriptorians ;) Nobody is trying to hide anything.
@BytunderJimbo Oh yes...read the Book of Mormon and if you don't believe its true then there must be something wrong with you...forget the fact that there is absolutely no archaeological evidence to back it up...if you get a warm and fuzzy feeling then you should believe in almost anything
Sorry....LDS INC does try to hide the fact that Joe was a plyg...so was Brigham and you named a university after him....i have about as much respect for their morals as I do Tiger Woods
well in many eyes it would be and umbrella statement .. but it isnt nor is it meant to be as a person who has been a convert for 4 years i have seen many things in my life afflictions that not many has endure i have been to many churches herd many sermons herd many preachers speak but none has touched me the way the gospel has indeed there are alot of churches that are good no dout this dosnt mean there false just missing doctrine as well as authority but this dosnt mean that they are wrong
to all who doubts the truth of the book of mormon. do as the prophet Joseph Smith Jr. proclaim read for yourself and ask god yourself rather if its true or not i know that the book of mormon is true with all my heart and all my soul this is a testimony of the book. i was not born into the church i am a convert the book of mormon and the church and gospel of jesus christ saved my life
@Hexthedestroyer agreed, even if I wanted to I really feel i could never deny that the church is true, i know it because i live it and i know it is truly the only way to be happy in life, from personal experience, no matter how bad the world gets or how hard your life is, it gives you comfort and hope that there is more to this life than just what you can see with your eyes.
@lilbeaveymac we totally understand just how big of a statement that really is. but who else actually is able to make that claim with the power and authority that we do? that may be pompous, but i simply view it as a matter of fact...that the church is true and that the book of mormon provides the way for us to see the validity of this claim. if you really want to know and understand why we would make such a seemingly outrageous claim then find out for yourself.
@anxiousnaxious i have a found out,i think your church is boring, its the worst 3 hours somebody can go through,no wonder utah has such a high suicide rate among young people, not only that your churech doesnt give people a choice by telling them all other churches are corrupt.
@lilbeaveymac actually the church tells its members that they have a choice its the principal of agency the right to choose for ones self and we dont say anyone is corrupt in fact in the 11 Article of faith is We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience and allow all men the same privilege let them worship how where or what they may
@lilbeaveymac p.s. those three things you stated are simply misconceptions about the church's beliefs and doctrines. if you really want to understand, then hear from the source and ask a fellow mormon face to face. anij ippam motta.
"These people fail to realize that it is on the inside that God must be defended, not on the outside. The main battlefield for good is not the open ground of the public arena but the small clearing of each heart. Meanwhile, the lot of widows and homeless children is very hard, and it is to thier defense, not God's, that the self-righteous should rush." Yann Martel
@martinh103 Yeah, I figured. Check out the video in the suggestions to the right. The one called 'funny moments from conference'. About as amusing as watching paint dry
Elder Holland is one of my favorite speakers in general conference. Because he tells it simply how it is. Even though there are always those who refuse to believe a word he utters. Which can be found annoying. But personally, i agree with President Hinckley. Pray for them, and do ALL that you can to help them come to an understanding of the truth. But the adversary WILL do ALL he can do, to discredit the church on EVERY level.
Holland is a crackpot who loves all LDS member to keep sending their 10% tithe, so he can have lavish vacations, $5000 suits, and strand infront of people who believe his spin about JS,
Ive heard Kolob is a nice place in the summer, with white gold sandy beaches..
o for all you mormon haters you say you are using freedome of speech but you people are breaking the law there can be not hate speech witch means any speech that is hateful said in public is illegal say wanted to tell you
look all u mormon haters unless u are of the faith keep your comments to yourself. you guys say it is freedome of speech just to let you know there a fine line to what is freedome of speech and what is not and saying stuff about a faith that you do not fallow is not freedome of speech and there is something called freedome of religion and this video is for members of the church only not for you people to hate on
Anti Mormons: Do you suppose God will be happy with you on your day of judgement for your efforts to drive souls away from a religion which purpose is to bring people closer to Christ? Which religion is best???? I believe God would say the best religion is any that brings a person closer to God in abiding by his commandments. If this is true you are attempting to drive souls away from God...which would make you an enemy of God. Use you energy to bring people unto christ, NOT take them away
so sir, you call the LDS church an abomination, a church that teaches people to follow the teachings of Christ, be kind to one another, have the family as the most important part of ones life, and help out those in need. If this is your definition of an abominable church, I feel sorry for you. There is significant proof of cities and people mentioned in the Book of Mormon, but again, we could debate those points all day, it comes down to praying AND reading the BOM and asking God if it is true.
I testify, that the BOM is a false book, made my masonic men, who were delusional, who's book has been changed for men , by men, whenever its suits them.
The LDS church is an abomination , and no city is traceable that exists in the Bom.
American indians are not descendants of Israel, nor does the Hill Cumorah battle exist. Lamanites do not, and have never existed.
Smith wrote the Bom with his cousin, Oliver Cowdrey, without golden plates, instead witha hat.
@martinh103 It just cracks me up that the exact thing that you are saying here is what Elder Holland talks about, you are fulfilling the words he testifies too. I love seeing Satan work through people like you to prove his point; you are the puppet of the devil. Well played. Again, your spelling is atrocious; please do better at composing well thought out statements, and using Google to look up your information is lame.
@martinh103 hahahahaha you are a fool, you can testify to your death and i will let you but it'll stand forever. because there is NO other answer and Nahom, the city that is traceable there is no way on earth that Joseph Smith could have randomly guessed that there was a place called Nahom in south america hence it had not been discovered yet. you have nothing better to do than to deny the gospel of christ i cry for i really do, if only you'd listen unto the enticings of the holy ghost.
@martinh103 you gedt your evidence from south park ha! and tyrants i can declare to you thati know as surely as did the apostles peter james and john that Jesus is the Christ. and no i have not lost touch with the bible the bible is the word of god, the book of mormon is just another testimant of Jesus Christ, i love the bible i read it much more than i read the book of mormon and please the more you deny the more i'll believe and i thank you for trying to mock us because these our are last days
Jesus said 'If ye love me, keep my commandments' that is all us LDS members try to do, we strive to keep the commandments of God and follow the example of his son Jesus Christ. I ask thee what is wrong with this? Yea i say unto you all that there is nothing wrong with Following Christ for he is the light and life on this world and He atoned and died for us so that we may be able to live with him after we die. All us LDS members do is try our best to please God so that we can live with him again.
@martinh103 We follow Christ and the example he taught, everything that is taught in our religion is about the Lord Jesus Christ and what he taught while he was on the Earth. The Lord said that he would send Prophets to help guide us and that is exactly what Joseph Smith was, he was a Prophet of the Lord.
@martinh103 He said follow a prophet, which is what Smith is, and what our current Prophet is. We don't follow handshakes or underwear, if you read the Bible you would know both were used before Christ came. You ignorance is comical.
@martinh103 Well idiot, at least we are taught to use correct grammar and spelling. I guess you are not taught that. Again, read the Bible and you will see all we do has been done before, there is nothing new. Your ignorance is unbelievable.
@skylmay I just read the Bible, and it tells me , as in Galatians 1 6-8 , not to follow a false doctrine as in the BOM.
Mattew 24 24 tells us that false prohets will arise and give great signs and wonders, just like Smith did.
He, and the MEN in suits, certainly have fooled you, along with your 10%. Keep sending your 10% , so the men in suits can live like fat cats, while you still follow the word of men... and a man who stuck his head in a hat.
@skylmay Deuteronomy 18:20–22 tells us that if a man says hes a prophet, and his predictions dont come true, he is a false prophet.
Here are Smiths false predictions...Prophecy about Jesus' return within 56 years / temple would be built in Missouri within Smith's Generation / All Nations would be involved in the American Civil War / Prophecy that Isaiah 11 was about to be fulfilled.
@martinh103 Wow, your own words prove your ignorance, predictions and prophecy's are different. Sure his predictions were wrong, his prophecies were correct as those came from the Lord. He is a Prophet, saw God the Father and the Son.
@martinh103 WHOA! Not so! 55But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, 56And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
(Acts 7) Stephen saw God and Jesus Christ after being filled with the Holy Ghost!
@martinh103 I testify that you will be on judge by God, Christ and Joseph Smith once you pass, I hope you remember your lies on that day. I have always enjoyed hearing people try to discredit a man that asked that we all love one another and follow Christ. It seals the testimony of his life..
@martinh103 As mentioned in the Doctrine and Covenants Joseph Smith did more save Jesus Christ for the salvation of men in this world. I testify to that and some day you will as well. The awesome thing about it, we will see won't we...
@martinh103 did Jesus write the bible? No he did not, so what you're saying in the bible is wrong just people who believed in christ wrote the bible, they wrote his words. So i could say the bible are just interpriting Jesus' words wrong. what are your views on the qu'ran? because that book is also correct to some extent it testifies of a messiah... he has come they don't believe so, however they testify of him, so does the old testimant. so does the Torah the very book Christ read from. so.....
@martinh103 jesus said And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. Matthew 7:3-5
@martinh103 What are you talking about? Our church isn't the church of joseph smith of latter day saints. It's the church of jesus christ of latter day saints. We know that christ is the way. He appoints prophets to guide us. So that's how we follow christ by following our prophets. I know that my church is true, but whether it is or not doesn't matter, because mormonism is a good way to live. We serve each other, we keep the commandments, we go to church every sunday, ect.
I testify of the truthfulness of the Boom of Mormon, Oh how great the words of the Prophets are. This book could not have been written by an evil man, this book could only be written by a good man who was commanded by God to do so. I've been in the Church all my life and i have seen how the Book of Mormon can change peoples lives for the better. Brothers and Sisters i ask you, Why can't we just listen to this Great man who is talking in this video? Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you.
@At0m1cA1 I testify Galatians 1 6-7 that the LDS church is an abomination....... I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all.
Prisoner [Joseph Smith] brought before Court March 20, 1826. Prisoner examined: says that he .... had a certain stone which he had occasionally looked at to determine where hidden treasures in the bowels of the earth were; that he professed to tell in this manner where gold mines were a distance under ground.
And therefore the Court find[s] the Defendant guilty. Costs: Warrant, 19c. Complaint upon oath, 25½c. Seven witnesses, ." (Frazer's Magazine, February, 1873, pp. 229-30)
@martinh103 The prophet doesn't "hide inaccuracies." And if you're talking about textual changes in The Book of Mormon, then you should understand that the English language wasn't standardized at the time of the first edition.
Also, modern archeological discoveries have shown that horses did live in the Americas prior to the Spanish conquest. They became extinct beforehand. (New Americanized Encyclopedia, Vol. 5, p. 3197)
@theboofooguy youre wasting your time if you think anything you say will ever convince me that this church and this man of God is anything less than the truth. sorry boofoo.
The weight of this decision can be ameliorated, though, through daily prayer and inquiry throughout the dating process. Rather than putting it off until after months of dating when your significant other presses you for an answer, you can check in with the Lord frequently and ask if your relationship has his approval. The nice thing about praying along the way is that, as did Oliver, you'll be answered with instruction from the Spirit.
In dating, there will eventually come a time of decision: Do I marry this person, or don't I? It can feel fairly intimidating to recognize that the decision you're making will so profoundly impact eternity.
What's it all about? This is the second annual Mormon Helping Hands California Day of Service.
Last year about 120 people, most members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, worked in Vasona Park and along Los Gatos Creek Trail putting in more than 400 hours of labor.
Recently, CBS News did a story on the frontliners for the 2012 presidential candidates. Each person mentioned was given a list of campaign strengths and weaknesses. Two of the names mentioned have Utah connections and are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: Jon Huntsman Jr. and Mitt Romney. Amid claims that other candidates weaknesses included lack of fundraising power, name recognition and moral issues,
Over a million Ivorians, including many Church members, have fled the violence by taking refuge in rural villages or fleeing to Ghana, Liberia, Benin or Togo. Where possible, Latter-day Saint refugees are being cared for by local Church leaders and members.
There are more than 15,600 Mormons in the Ivory Coast; the first missionaries arrived in 1988. There are 44 Latter-day Saint congregations in the country.
The Church moved all missionaries who are not native Ivorians out of the Ivory Coast in December. Non-Ivorian missionaries have been evacuated to the nearby countries of Benin and Togo, with the mission president operating from Togo. Ivorian missionaries have been given temporary leave to return to their homes or to stay with local members until it is safe to resume missionary activities.
That is VERY WRONG. We have writings of the apostolic fathers (students of the Apostles) and it is a very well known fact that the NT was written in Koine Greek. We have copies of the originals written in Koine Greek and like I said, no Hebrew NT writings have ever been found.
The Apostolic fathers did comment on Matthew being in Hebrew but no copies of it have ever been found. The enforced language was Koine Greek in the Period of Christ.
@omiolo Have you ever heard of the SEPTUAGINT? The Septuagint was written in Koine Greek some 300 years before Christ and it was taken from the Hebrew because the Jews at that time could not read or write in HEBREW.
Thus they asked the ruler at the time to have it translated into Koine Greek so they could read it. This was all some 250 to 300 years before Christ.
The NT was written in Koine Greek and it is the original language of the NT.

@LDS4Life71 Why am I ignorant and hateful for questioning your religion? The Mormon god did lie...he commanded the early Mormons to practice the illegal act of Polygamy...and then a few short decades after changed his mind
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity Because Mormons are told to obey the law of the land, and polygamy was against the law of the land. Though no mormons are encouraged to have plural wives, it is the law of heaven. And most people look at polygamy in the wrong way. If anyone has been alone, they know how sad a person gets without someone there. God commands for polygamy so that every woman will have someone to take care of her.
Fuhgeddaboudit94 3 months ago
@Fuhgeddaboudit94 why did Gordon Hinkley say "This church has nothing to do with polygamy"...why does the LDS church fail to mention that Joe had 33 wives?
fatimasadrcity 3 months ago
@fatimasadrcity Because technically, the church doesn't have anything to do with Polygamy anymore. When the LDS church wanted to establish the state of Utah, they were told that they couldn't practice polygamy anymore. Joseph was married to his wives before that.
Fuhgeddaboudit94 3 months ago
@Fuhgeddaboudit94 I agree with you, however, if you read through the posts to my questions on this matter, you will see how Mormons dance around the questions, evade and cloud the truth, then in the end admit that yes....the church still believes in the practice of plural marriage
fatimasadrcity 3 months ago
@fatimasadrcity Well, ya, we still believe in the practice of Plural marriage, but we don't actually practice it because it is against the law. I don't think it's that complicated or that we "dance around" anything. It's not like it's illegal to believe in polygamy...
Fuhgeddaboudit94 3 months ago
@Fuhgeddaboudit94 Gordon B HInkely "I wish to state categorically that this Church has nothing whatever to do with those practicing polygamy"?????
Christians don't believe in Polygamy, the Book of Mormon, D&C, the Pearl of Great Price, or any other Mormon doctrines and scripture
fatimasadrcity 3 months ago

Fuhgeddaboudit94 3 months ago
@Fuhgeddaboudit94 So you don't consider the leaders salaries, expense accts., free family ed. at BYU... taking a "penny" from tithing coffers? Or the $3 billion mall in SLC, Florida ranches, Hawaiian condos..., a misallocation of the Lord's cash? Jesus would be ashamed of how little of your churches $billion+/yr intake goes to the poor. Like other churches leaders, yours are no different. They live quite handsomely on your tithing. They don't pay it; they collect it!

fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@LDS4Life71 Why did Hinkley say "Polygamy is behind us....we've moved on...anyone practicing polygamy is excommunicated" if it is still LDS doctrine...admit it sir...its still LDS belief, but it doesn't suite the churches desire to appear to be Christian...God NEVER commanded polygamy and you know it
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@LDS4Life71 Can't a Mormon every answer a straight question? why does the LDS church try to distance itself from Polygamy????????? Shouldn't there web page on Joseph Smith address the fact he had many wives instead of just Emma?
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@LDS4Life71 It is LDS doctrine...great...finally a Mormon who will be open about it...so why do the suits in Salt Lake go to such lengths to distance themselves from Polygamy? Why don't they mention on their website that Joseph Smith had 33 wives? Why???????
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@LDS4Life71 No where in the Old testament does god command polygamy....I agree God is not a changeable God...but the Mormon God seems to be....why under the teachings of Old Joe does God command plural marriage for a few short decades? No one on this thread will answer why the mainstream LDS church doesn't fess up that YES plural marriage is and remains LDS doctrine?
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@LDS4Life71 So if the Lord restores Plura Marriage, and the doctrine of Plural Marriage is still LDS doctrine (d&c 132) why does the LDS church go to such lengths to distance itself from the practice? why not be truthful on their website and state correctly that Joseph Smith hat 33 wives, not just one? There are countless numbers of LDS leaders making public statements that "There is no such thing as Mormon Polygamy" "We have nothing to do with polygamy" etc etc
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
look into this marvelous mans eyes as he speaks and you can truly see the light of christ. For those that disagree at least read Luke 9 49-50 :-)
schnucklefutz 4 months ago
It was against the law when Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were practicing it as well...."It will not always be the law of the land"...so you admit that Plural Marriage is still LDS Doctrine? why doesn't the church fess up with the truth then? Why does their website state Joseph Smith only had one wife???
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@LDS4Life71 I haven't heard that any artefacts of the BOM have ever been found..the only thing that really bothers me about the LDS church is their history of polygamy. Joseph Smith brought forth this practice and the pain and abuse it has caused is still happening today. the "fundies" really believe that it is necessary to gain exaltation and i believe the mainstream church should help these people instead of trying to distance itself from them, afterall, it is still in your doctrine isn't it?
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@LDS4Life71 And didn't Joseph Smith receive revelation to practice polygamy? How can the polygamists groups be wrong when they are practicing what he taught as an everlasting principle?

its unbelievable how mormons paint Joseph Smith as such a moral man...he created an convenient "revelation" from god ordering him to take multiple wives
the lds website is deceptive...claiming he was devoted to his "wife" ...which wife? Emma Smith? what about the other 33 wives he had
I find it so entertaining how the modern LDS church tries to distance itself from the fact that Joseph Smith was an adulterer
fatimasadrcity 5 months ago
@fatimasadrcity You are ignorant. Was Moses an Adulterer? How about Abraham? Polygamy was commanded and they lived it.
rambojoe2323 5 months ago

@bryantj3 Show me scripture where God commands the practice of Polygamy in the bible...ask the Mormons about Joe's wacky story about an Angel with a sword threatening poor old Joe with death and damnation if he refused to 'marry' other chicks
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
Read the Old Testament and you will find the practice of Polygamy everywhere. The purpose of Polygamy is to take care of the women and to raise seed unto the Lord. You sound like a God fearing, Bible going person so I am surprised you even had to ask! :)
sportsislife45 4 months ago
@sportsislife45 Of course you find the practice of polygamy in the old testament...you find all sorts of human behavior...but like all Mormons...you can't come up with any scripture that proves God COMMANDED it....the only scripture that commands men to take plural wives is MORMON....ie D&C Section 132....who brought Polygamy to North America? it was your over sexed Prophet who you paint as a moral and righteous man...33 wives! Mormons named their university after a man with 55 wives..SICK SICK
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity LoL WOW you must play a lot of poker, but I do as well. Find me a scripture in the Bible where God "COMMANDS" specifically that we get married before we have sex? Good luck on that because you won't find anything, BUT remember there are many scriptures that talk about it and are OBVIOUSLY telling us that God has a law of chastity and he wants us to not have sex until we are married. Your Full House was nice, but I think my Flush of Hearts wins ;)
sportsislife45 4 months ago
@sportsislife45 we aren't talking about sex before marriage...the topic is how the LDS church is painting its founding "Prophet" as a righteous and moral man when in fact he was a POLYGAMIST...why was Joseph Smith a Polygamist? and why does the Mormon church try to hide the truth? Why does the Mormon.org website claim he was a devoted husband to his "wife" not "wives" Did he or did not claim to have received revelation from God himself to practice polygamy? YES or NO?
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity Actually the topic is....Why does there have to be a "Specific Command" in the scriptures for something to be true??? According to your logic, there are thousands of gospel based principles that could come into question and doubt simply because there are no "Specific Commands" from God saying that they are true. So in reality that destroys faith because isn't faith based on a hope in God and things that are not seen but are true. Seriously common now LoL
sportsislife45 4 months ago
@sportsislife45 Nice try...why can't you answer the question? Why was Old Joe a polygamist? Why does the church state on their page on him as having 1 wife? Your church named a university after a man who had 55 wives!! Explain that if you can..BY taught you are damned if you deny polygamy "The only men who become Gods, even the Sons of God, are those who enter into polygamy"
Who are the true mormons? LDS INC, FLDS? AUB? Who has it right?
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity He had many wives for the same reasons as Abraham, Issac, Jacob, King David(should I go on with Old Testament Prophets who had many wives??) It was ordained of God and if you weren't so Biased towards the LDS Church you might understand the reasons why there were times when it was necessary especially during the early days of the LDS Church. When there are more women then men, it allows the women and their children to be taken care of thus avoiding poverty and other conditions
sportsislife45 4 months ago
@sportsislife45 So you are telling me God Commanded Abraham, Issac, Jacob, David, Joseph Smith and Brigham Young to practice Polygamy? Can you back this up with scripture? (Biblical scripture...not the D&C nonsense)
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity LoL your argument is ridiculous and driven by your biased feelings towards the LDS Church. If polygamy is so "SICK" as you described it then why would a Prophet of God(Abraham, Issac, Jacob, David) practice it? If you truly believe the Bible then you can't deny the fact these men were Prophets of God and did great works for the world to further God's Kingdom. Do you honestly believe they would practice polygamy if God didn't command them and it was wrong? Seriously common sense!!
sportsislife45 4 months ago
@sportsislife45 Again...please provide Scriptural reference that shows Polygamy was A COMMANDMENT given by God in the Bible...you can't, so point the finger back at me. Did Joe receive his "revelation" from God re: Celestial Plural Marriage OR NOT????????? I'm starting to sort of believe that the FLDS, AUB, the incestuous Kingston Clan etc are right when they state the LDS church is in a state of apostasy...at least they practice what Old Joe actually taught as everlasting (as icky as it was)
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity I can provide scriptural reference but do I really need to do it for you?? Let me ask you this....Do you believe in the Old Testament Prophets?? Apparently not because they practiced polygamy which makes you ill.Whether or not you believe God commanded it or not is irrelevant because the issue is that you are disgusted with polygamy. If so then surely you must not believe in the Prophets of old. Surely you must only believe in certain aspects of the Bible and not the entire thing
sportsislife45 4 months ago
WHY? WHY? WHY?
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity There you go again. Your biased feelings are just clouding your abilities. Your assuming that I am Mormon just because I am defending their faith.I just can't keep doing this. Your on an agenda and that is to tear down the faith of the LDS Church. Isn't that contrary to what the Bible and the Lord teach us? Its ok to disagree and not accept doctrines of other churches but if we are tearing down their faith then we are going against the Lord's command to love everyone. **Sigh**
sportsislife45 4 months ago
@sportsislife45 Why can't you answer a simple question? The only agenda I am on is to find out why the LDS church is deceptive about their founding "prophets" history? Why does the page devoted to him paint him as a devoted husband to his "wife" when we all know it was "wives"? Talk about clouding the issue Sir!
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity First off, why do you automatically assume they are being deceptive? Its a home page for their "basic beliefs." A lot of businesses and other religions have the same approach. They share their basic belief's which are usually the most important. They do this hoping people will want to learn more and that is when they get in touch with representatives or even just locals and learn more. Is that really being deceptive?? I wouldn't say it is.
sportsislife45 4 months ago
@sportsislife45 Go have a look at their page on old Joe....He was dedicated to his "wife" and children...no mention of his stunning revelation where god commands him to practice polygamy...not a word about his 33 other wives...I would say that deceptive is a very accurate word to use to describe this...why doesn't the church just fess up instead of trying to hide their embarrassing past?
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity Again how is that deceptive?? He was dedicated to his wife and children. He did everything he could to provide for them and protect them. Again those who want to learn more about the LDS Church and Joseph Smith usually meet up with the missionaries or friends they have that are members so they can learn more. Ask any member of the LDS Church about Joseph Smith and polygamy and they will explain it straight up without trying to hide anything or be embarrassed.
sportsislife45 4 months ago
@sportsislife45 I had a missionary a few weeks ago tell me that he did NOT practice polygamy...I think your church would gain a little more respect if it didn't try to hide its very peculiar doctrine....i.e. baptizing dead people, secret masonic handshakes in order to get into heaven, Planet Kolob (my personal favorite) and the very nasty practice of marrying as many women as you can ....Old Joe even married women that were already married...explain that?
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity You must be very naive to take what 1 missionary said as valid and that it stands for the official doctrine of the church(although I slightly don't blame you because missionaries are official representatives of the church) And baptizing dead people?! Really?! That is blatantly twisting what they do and even what they call it to sound horrible. They call it Baptizing FOR the Dead. Obviously there is a big difference there. Also, they baptize living people for someone who has died
sportsislife45 4 months ago
@sportsislife45 Baptising dead people is the same as baptising for the dead...it isn't the dead's choice to be baptised...its LDS Inc that chooses to do so....read up on how they were baptizing Holocaust victims...you claim not to be a member but you sure do jump to their defence while also claiming not to know their doctrine...interesting
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity Secret handshakes to get into heaven? Really? LOL! That is so ridiculous it made laugh a ton!! So did your comment about Kolob. Also, the church never practiced marrying as many women as possible. Joseph Smith did marry a women who was already married but guess what? Her husband had already died whether it was to mob violence or disease. It boggles my mind that you and many other people are so gullible to believe whatever you hear about the LDS Church from non-credible sources.
sportsislife45 4 months ago
@sportsislife45 Signs and tokens in the temple....first and second tokens of the Aaronic Priesthood, Sure sign of the nail, patriarchal grip etc... you deny these? If I Could Hie to Kolob? And how many women did he marry? Brigham Young had at least 55 wives...and where can i find a museum that had book of mormon artifacts on display?????????
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago

@fatimasadrcity Sounds like you are the one with the big problem, not us.

@myway43 Why do people who question the validity of the Mormon church and question their very strange doctrines have a "big problem"? Are we not allowed to question the LDS faith?
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity Sure you can question it, please feel free to. The problem is when you get on here and start trolling with your version of truth. You don't like our Church? , Fine , please feel free to move on. but you don't , you continue on. We have all heard it before. Do you think you are the first to bring some type of self proclaimed truth to Y.T.? Get over yourself, your not that impressive. So now there you have it. Please move on. I am not requiring you to continue your efforts.
myway43 4 months ago
@myway43 I don't have to move on...I won't move on until I get the answer I was looking for...WHY DOES THE LDS WEBSITE PAGE ON JOSEPH SMITH FAIL TO MENTION HE WAS A POLYGAMIST????? WHY IS YOUR CHURCH DECEPTIVE ABOUT ITS DOCTRINE AND HISTORY?
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity Once again, and I refuse to go round and round about it. The Church does not deny the past of polygamy. In the past there were polygamous marriages...SO WHAT! Polygamy was discontinued in 1890. Grow up for crying out loud. Our Church does not deny anything. Are you waiting around for an apology from the Church about polygamy? Not going to happen.
myway43 4 months ago
@myway43 I'm waiting for the church to be responsible and honest about the fact that their beloved founding prophet is not what they paint him to be. I'm waiting for the LDS church to do something about the misery Joseph Smiths revelation commanding the practice of polygamy has created. There are thousands of Mormons following the "principle" which is an abusive life of bondage and pain. Who created this problem? Joseph Smith did
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
I can testify to you that our Church has truly been a God send to me. This gospel has pulled me up and has truly changed my life. Joseph Smith was a Prophet, and we have a Prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, a good and holy man. Elder Holland has always been one of my favorites. He always has good and timely instruction for all who care to hear. I have been to a lot of churches, but this Church gave me something none of the others could. I sought answers form others to no avail.
myway43 4 months ago
@myway43 So if Joseph Smith is a true Prophet...why does your church try to distance itself from its history of Polygamy?
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity The Church does not distance itself at all about polygamy at all. Polygamy was allowed for a short time. Polygamy was then discontinued after 1890. Do you at least read up on history before you post this stuff? It is history, gone, old hat, yet folks like you still bring it up with hopes to discredit the LDS Church.
myway43 4 months ago
@myway43 Your church is deceptive...Joseph Smith was "devoted" to his "wife" and children....what a load of crap....if my husband was sleeping with other women, I wouldn't claim him to be "devoted" to me would I?
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity Then I was directed to this Church. Answers were given freely. I now know who I am, I know why I am here, I know my purpose in life. You can argue until your blue in the face, fine, I hope that serves you well. I have a testimony of the truth of this gospel of Jesus Christ and no one can take that away from me. So feel free to talk about whatever, but the truth far outshines your efforts. This gospel brings happiness and joy to millions around the world.
myway43 4 months ago
@myway43 Your church has also created a whole lot of misery....check out Warren Jeffs, the FLDS, Bountiful in Canada, the Apostolic United Brethren, the Kingston Group just to name a few....all of these groups claim priesthood authority...all of them claim to be the only "True" Church...all of them follow the same doctrine as the mainstream LDS church...the Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price and the D&C
The abuse in this groups are horrible..and who taught them Polygamy? (Old Joe Smith)
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity Misery, .. that's a laugh. The Churches you have mentioned have absolutely nothing to do with the LDS Church. I am starting to doubt your integrity in this debate. Do you get all of your "facts", from anti-Mormon youtube videos? tsk, tsk, tsk, shame on you.
myway43 4 months ago
@myway43 How do they have nothing to do with the LDS church? They are following true Mormonism as taught by your founding leader...a man your church holds in the highest esteem. They follow the exact same doctrine and scripture...and like your church...each of these groups claim they are the only "True" church..shame on you for following a prophet that was a pervert...tell the truth LDS INC!!
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity I watch as the Church helps all people, how they're humanitarian efforts feed the hungry, help the sick and heal broken hearts. I have met a family of caring people who are ready to serve and assist at the drop of a hat always with a smile, yet you have a problem with that? I have a better life than I have ever had. What do you have?
myway43 4 months ago
@myway43 Lots of people and organizations assist in humanitarian efforts all over the world who aren't Mormons....what do I have? I have an excellent education, common sense, and an unpolluted mind free of superstition, lies and mythology....Look at all of the comments i have made on this thread and still no one will tell me why the LDS website fails to mention Joseph Smith had over 33 wives..is it too much to ask of the only True Church?
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@fatimasadrcity I tell you what, I wouldn't go about bragging of an excellent education, or your idea of common sense. So polygamy isn't mentioned on the Church website, big whoop. The better question would be why should the Church put anything about the practice of polygamy on they're website? A discontinued practice since 1890. I have more than adequately proved my point here.
myway43 4 months ago
@myway43 You don't think its important for the church to tell the truth about its history? I would suggest that your church is in permanent damage control mode when it comes to the truth....the FLDS, AUB, etc etc embarrass the church and they are the ones who at least have the courage to practice an "everlasting" principle as taught by old JOE even though its illegal and very abusive...your church has a moral obligation to help put a stop to a practice your prophet created
fatimasadrcity 4 months ago
@rambojoe2323 Well I'm not finding a "thou shalt" in the Bible or BOM, but read Gen 25:1. to say that God doesn't approve of plural marriage would make the ancient prophets adulterous. God made provisions in their time, there were also provisions in the early days of the restoration. I'd like to see documentation of "old Joe's roving eyes". I think you'd be much more likely to find an ACCREDITED historical record about how Joseph initially was resistant to the commandment. I know my religion.
rambojoe2323 5 months ago
@rambojoe2323 Now its God doesn't "Approve:" of Plural Marriage.....the other Mormon guy claimed he COMMANDED it
Why does Mormon.org's page on Joseph Smith say he was dedicated to his wife? why doesn't it mention the fact that he had 33 wives? What's LDS Inc trying to hide? I've had Mormon missionaries tell me me he wasn't a polygamist

There is significant proof of cities and people mentioned in the Book of Mormon, but again, we could debate those points all day, it comes down to praying AND reading the BOM and asking God if it is true.
jhthomas30 9 months ago
I testify, that the BOM is a false book, made my masonic men, who were delusional, who's book has been changed for men , by men, whenever its suits them.
The LDS church is an abomination , and no city is traceable that exists in the Bom.
American indians are not descendants of Israel, nor does the Hill Cumorah battle exist. Lamanites do not, and have never existed.
Smith wrote the Bom with his cousin, Oliver Cowdrey, without golden plates, instead witha hat.

@At0m1cA1 Yeah, but did Jesus say " follow the smith man when i'm gone "?
Or did he say, follow the golden plates, follow the church with masonic eye's and Angel Moroni on its roof blowing a trumpet?
Did Jesus say follow a church that practises weird handshakes, masonic temple rituals, and weird underwear.
Nope, he said I am the way, not Smith, or words from men.

@martinh103 We follow Christ and the example he taught, everything that is taught in our religion is about the Lord Jesus Christ and what he taught while he was on the Earth.

All wrong. Smith is a fake.
