I don't know why this was on Pitchfork rather than Robot Hive (or was it left off of Blast Tyrant?), it is fantastic. I wonder if they were hesitant because of some of the really blatant lyrics. Nevertheless both this and Bottoms up Socrates are both great, and made Pitchfork worth keeping.
Nah, it was Robot Hive. I reckon they probably thought the sound didn't fit in with the other songs on there. In a way its so groovy it would have shown up the rest of the album heh
someone told me it was the typ. cuts that didnt make the album..and never was going to be heard. Then when pitchfork was scheduled to come out (a re-release of their first album) they decided to put as much as they could on it by adding the unreleased from their last album (robot hive)
goin to the clutch show at the meridian in houston in a week. im counting down the hours. I heard that if neil sees that your not jamming, he will pull you on stage and scissor kick you. He did it to Angela Lansbury once. I also heard that he drives an ice cream truck made of human skulls...hmmm
They played it many times on the last leg of this tour. They played it 5 shows in a row up until the show I was at. They didn't play it at the show I was at though.
I've been lucky enough to see it a few times, but another wouldn't have bummed me out in the slightest.
Fallon's lyrical mastery is unmatched.

pitchfork and lost needles. an odd mix of the heavier thrashier stuff and the newer progressive bluesy stuff. all gold.
