A fellow kiwi. Just moved up from a E280 to a E430 Avantgarde AMG, and I love it. It has the body kit and suspension of the AMG along with the 18 monoblocks. They were all ticked off the option list when brought new. I thought the 430 would be a bit anemic, but it really flies. I noticed the whine, almost supercharger like. I was wondering if it was a problem. I am researching headers and exhaust, probably through Als mufflers in Auckland, along with a k&n filter and ecu flash.

@EnigmaNZ1 ha sorry for takeing so long to reply, I toke mine to john down at pit stop wairau rd , He know what i like , i recently upgraded to an 2004 e500, and he did the exhaust on that one to, and it sounds hot, Any probs just go to my web site if you want to know anymore im at Mobile rust surgeon ltd .co.nz

@newzealandmanxxx No problem. Decided to go the cheap route in the end and took it to Pitstop in Takanini. They removed the enormous rear muffler. The center muffler/antiresonator provides enough quietening and outlets into twin pipes which were extended to the rear and fitted with SS tips.It is fairly quiet if driven gently but put my foot down and it sounds fantastic.

Ok either I missed it or it was never posted. But would you explain how you had this exhaust system built, materials, pipe size, manufacures, what was removed from original exhaust. Thanks....your ride sounds great. Need my 430 to sound the same...

Nice sound, is it an automatic? If so can you do burnouts in a straight line with out using the brakes? Cheers.

Yep :-) Just put you foot hard on the accelerator and once shes smokin up just lightly tap the brakes with your other foot

Well soon as i bought it i toke off 3 mufflers and put on one race muffler, Ha and they are so easy to do burnouts in them.
