I like both this and the 16-bit version of this song, but for different reasons. This version gives me a lovey dovey feel (duh), while the 16-bit version gives me the triumphant feeling of "Yeah, we did it buddy. We saved the day!"
Hey, what if a hack of Sonic 2's Beta was made? The maker could edit the scrapped levels, extend the original plot that involved time travel, and have Tails be a female and fall in love with Sonic at the end? That'd be cool, IMO!
So basically, what i'm getting out of this is that since tails was originally a female, "she" fell in love with Sonic at the end of the game. Tails was changed to a male, and SEGA still wanted a love interest for Sonic, so that spot was held for Rosy the Rascal, later named Amy Rose. It makes a lot of sense to me!

Tails is obviously a male (Says 'he' multiple times in the Sonic 2 Manual, if you've been a fan that long like I have), but its understandable why newcomers to Sonic may think he's a female, since his last three voice actors have been female.
Atleast his newest voice actor sounds somewhat like a male.

Yeah, Sonic was supposed to have a human girlfriend, but her concept has nothing to do with Tails. Here's the deal; Sonic's sidekick was originally supposed to be Ray the Flying Squirrel, but the flying squirrel idea was rejected by Sega, and so Ray's creator instead created Tails based off of his previous design for Ray. This means that Tails was always intended to be a boy since his creation because he was based off of another male character that was initially rejected.
"Dream Come True" used them because Masato Nakamura is the composer in "Dreams Come True", and he is the composer of Sonic 1 & 2 Musics, while this song came in October 21, 1992, Sonic 2 came (In japan) in November 21, 1992 which it just came after a month.
So don't twist around with your dirty minds around, people.

It's just a typical Japanese end credits song. Even in hardcore anime, the end songs usually are about love and mushy things, so this song's content isn't shocking.
This song was composed by the same composer that wrote the original melody. It makes well for a love song so they used it in Sonic 06 for Sonic and Elise. Sonic games continually re-hash melodies and someone always finds a "coincidence" in them. This song doesn't have anything to do with Tails' concept.
Who care's if Tails' was first thought up as a girl it doesn't automatically mean that Sonic and Tails are gay now. People need to grow up and get a life.

Tails is a guy. Also fans know that in the games and some of the shows amy is Sonic's girl. In the Comics Amy likes sonic but Sonic is currantly dating Sally Acorn

Dude, Sonic 2 kicks ass. It's the best Sonic game IMO. Ten times better than any other Sonic game! Sonic Generations will have to do a lot of shit to make me think it's better than this epic masterpiece! Also, Sonic's not gay. Sonic, if anything, is probably more interested in himself....XD He's just that way guys. He does show some compassion for Amy though....Wait!!! Sonic CD looks exactly like Sonic 1 physics-wise!....So maybe....Sonic CD was the original Sonic 2?....Then this song....!!! AH!

I think the people who clicked Dislike for this song, were simply people who didn't like the game itself.
Personally, I think the game gets a bad rep. Yeah, it's not the best game, but it's still a pretty good game. I like it anyway.

oh god so much ignorance in the comments and description. The composer for the band Dreams Come True was also the composer for Sonic 2., so he just used the same beat and saved himself some work, also Tails was never going to be a girl.

Tails WAS supposed to be a female.
The concept of 'Elise' existed back from Sonic 1 concept art ages ('90-'91) (Anyone heard of Madonna? A planned human girlfriend for Sonic. ;))
There are a lot of things about the Sonic series that would blow your mind.

Yeah, Sonic was supposed to have a human girlfriend, but her concept has nothing to do with Tails. Here's the deal; Sonic's sidekick was originally supposed to be Ray the Flying Squirrel, but the flying squirrel idea was rejected by Sega, and so Ray's creator instead created Tails based off of his previous design for Ray. This means that Tails was always intended to be a boy since his creation because he was based off of another male character that was initially rejected.

"Dream Come True" used them because Masato Nakamura is the composer in "Dreams Come True", and he is the composer of Sonic 1 & 2 Musics, while this song came in October 21, 1992, Sonic 2 came (In japan) in November 21, 1992 which it just came after a month.
So don't twist around with your dirty minds around, people.

It's just a typical Japanese end credits song. Even in hardcore anime, the end songs usually are about love and mushy things, so this song's content isn't shocking.

This song was composed by the same composer that wrote the original melody. It makes well for a love song so they used it in Sonic 06 for Sonic and Elise. Sonic games continually re-hash melodies and someone always finds a "coincidence" in them. This song doesn't have anything to do with Tails' concept.
Who care's if Tails' was first thought up as a girl it doesn't automatically mean that Sonic and Tails are gay now. People need to grow up and get a life.
