Why do these companies insist on taking on Apple? The only thing that concerns them is trying to be as good as iPhone.
Blackberry for example go their own way and make a quality device with no care or desperation what Apple do.
They try everything but cant overhaul them, so only one thing was left, make the phone even bigger. Mobile Phones were thought to be better when smaller not to long ago, but HTC is doing it's best to change that.
The Desire HD isn't exactly pocket-friendly. We’ve been making calls with the thing and holding it against your face not only makes your hand ache, but feels a little daunting, even if the call quality is perfectly fine. The screen resolution matches most of the top Android devices, but doesn't quite give you the sharpness of the Apple iPhone 4. Like the others it does have a glossy finish, so reflections will be a problem and viewing it next to a window or outdoors will never be easy.
Unfortunately, we are not so impressed with the overall quality of the phone. It doesn’t feel cheap but we wouldn’t classify it as a top-shelf model either. The rear of the device has plastic inserts which are disjointed, you can see the gaps on pictures of the phone. The size of the phone instantly turns us off, it can fit in the pocket, but it's certainly not comfortable. Other problems include the screen quality and battery life. It's strange to see these faults in a high end smartphone.

I have used this phone for month and sold it yesterday. The phone gets laggy – sometimes to the point where the it is actually unusable. Pretty frustrating! The 10 sec fast-boot is nothing else than misleading advertising! Battery that hardly lasts half of a day is simply a joke! Probably the worst phone I've used in terms of reception. Phone randomly deleted my SMS messages! (Apparently common thing with the Desire. WTF!?)
This htc is just humongous, thanks but no thanks.
However, if you "Desire" a heavy breeze block of a phone with poor screen resolution, terrible battery life, poor build quality, shabby plastics, awful sound quality, a ringtone too quiet too hear,a lack of applications, no gyroscope for decent games and a poor resale value, then this is the device for you!

Hi there! I was a little disappointed with the quality of the Desire HD. The uni-body is outstanding but the plastic used are really really bad. They don't rest properly. The screen is OK, but don't expect too much, definitely no wow factor. The loud speaker is very tinny. I personally found the camera for still images to be outstanding but for the HD video recording is not up to the mark. And finally, the battery is mediocre. This is my experience with the DHD. HTC could have done it better!
I gave in and got one. I have now gone back, what an absolutely terrible piece of kit. It doesn't even know what it is. Am I a phone? Am I a laptop? Am I an iPad? Am I a brick?
The only thing I can say for certain, it's very, very hungry. Get a day out of this brick and you have done well. You could follow HTC advise and turn off wi-fi, 3G. Notifications, Multi Tasking, Locations etc.....
In other words, treat this beast with extreme caution,

So that's even more bulk to an already over sized phone.
This is meant to be a "mobile" phone. The only thing that will be extremely mobile is the charger, with it's paltry battery trying to keep that beast powered up.
So, we have a larger phone, larger display using much more power on Android. Android is known as a power drain any way, so what they doing adding a smaller battery?
Looks great on the outside, just falls apart when you dig deeper.

Well I hate that my friend got his mom's shitty beat up old iPhone 3G, and thinks that it's better than my original Motorola Droid, which I've kept in perfect condition for all the months I've had it. The Desire HD is quite frankly garbage. I was expecting a nice aluminium rear, not a rear full of cheap plastic panels.
The screen is terrible, why no amoled or retina? I sent an email to HTC, the response was "it would reduce battery life"

The Desire HD seems to drink battery life like a tramp drinks special brew?!
The Desire HD is also way too big for me. If I want a small HD screen to watch movies I'll probably buy a lap top!
Putting the Desire HD in your pocket is fine, but be very careful when sitting down.
Plastic battery and sim tray covers, poor reception, shocking battery life, no lens cover.

The display looks poor. Why would they make a screen so large and not give you the latest Super Oled or Retina displays?

i have a friend who NeveR has his phone on because (and i quote) 'i don't need to use it'. what happens if someone else needs him? 'they won't'. kudos to him.
anyhoo, the most annoying thing is people who get on escalators, reach the top and stop. also, people who hate other people for owning phones. i hate people who hate people!

We all know that the firmware realeases are phone specific epsecally when you go from a htc device to a samsung one they try to optmize it for the phone its coming out on especially if your making it for a phone with the sence UI or like a touch wiz (i love that name...Im a touch wiz too) device or that crap ass motoblur...crap
