Currently THE greatest Music on Planet Earth according to the Genus Book of World Records and Music Association. :D And I shall see him tomorrow!! (Sunday July 31) :D
@tiranchula Yeah, I know what you mean. I remember being 11 and watching this on tv, not knowing what was happening to me! :D Guess he was my first teenage crush.
And Paul if you ever read this, sorry, didn't mean to embarrass you. I do stil love you and your music, but in a much more mature way. Happy X-mas, all the best, and please stay around for a long, long time!
This song is like, really irritating. Because we have to learn some sentences for school, and 'I've had enough' is one of them. So this song stucks in my head all the time.
because of Lennon's 'coolness' particularly with the rock music press its hugely overlooked that the major up tempo 'rock' type songs with the Beatles were written mainly by Mcartney, the variety and bredth of his output is simply amazing, the major pop musician of the 20th century. this little song is typical of his effortless brilliance
Good rocker from London Town. Yeah this is the Back To The Egg lineup in this vid. Think it was Joe English (drums) and Jimmy McCulloch (guitar) who played on the album.
@rwhitenow I don't know how much of a compliment that is, I was never a big fan of a song just because a lot of other people happen to buy it or like it or because of all the hype. On the other hand Paul McCartney makes timeless music--rock music. And it doesn't matter whether it's a soft or slow song or a fast or hard song--it's all rock. Something people of all ages can tap along with, you can see that on some videos of his more recent concerts.
@ b4ihangmyself. hehe. Hi ..thanks. It's a compliment to Paul! Say Say Say he did with Michael Jackson im sure you know already. I was replacing the misplacement with the REAL King of Pop Paul McCartney. Not to diminish Michael Jacksons talent.- Yes McCartney is the Best ever...amazing the songs he has written after Lennon/McCartney, and how John Lennon picked such a great bass player for his band... where do those songs come from?
@rwhitenow Very true! He's had more hits in a longer span of time than Michael Jackson. And he never turned himself into a freak or was accused of pedophilia. Sorry MJ fans. I liked his music too up until Thriller, but after that lp, it was all downhill.
@rhondaluvshermusic sure. If he'd just fill up his lps with more of it. Particularly the lp this song came from. This song sounds like Metallica compared to the rest of the songs on London Town. They're that soft. Ah, but it's MCCartney so he gets a pass. Luv 'im, really.
I like this album. It has dated a lot better than some other music from the period. This song along with Name and Address and Girls School (B side to With a Little Luck) had Macca in fine rocking form.
@Paulmancieri67 I like Backwards Traveller/Cuff Link as well as this tune. But the rest is pretty soft. I agree with Girl's School. That should have been included on the lp instead of say, Deliver your children or I'm Carrying. At least he delivered on his promise to rock out more on Back to the Egg, but somehow, it misfired. I like that lp better though.
I liked his approach to both records but to be quite honest his material is disappointing. What's maddening is he comes up with great songs like Name and Address, Spin it On, Getting Closer, Girls School. He had the talent but consistently underperformed. I love him too but some of that Wings material can drive even the most devoted batty.
@Paulmancieri67 i know. And I've heard it all from him. Only Ram, Band on the Run, and Tug of War are brilliant throughout. The rest from Wings can be a crapshoot. Sometimes just crap.
Love Ram......always thought it to be his best. I also like Wings Over America....his material sounds a lot better when he performed it live (I.E. Magneto and Titanium Man, Soily, Rock Show).
@Paulmancieri67 Then Ram on,my friend. Btw, I have a real soft spot for Red Rose Speedway for some reason. Except for that godawful medly at the end of the lp.
how could you think about that at all? jesse is not even talented at all. he can just wish about Paul. no no no no no no, I've had enough about this question! please just forget about jesse. dammit he's just stupid american boy!!!
oh whatever, LONG LIVE PAUL MCCARTNEY AND THE BEATLES/THE WINGS!!!
Paul is truly a musical giant and a genius whose talent is not limited to music. Paul McCartney is such a treat to watch and listen to and thank you for this video!
like most of his solo work, except that he does it better than most. this song isn't that bad-Now Bip Bop from Wild Life is pretty much the bottom of anyone's barrel.
Still got it!

That Laurence Juber and Steve Holly in the video, but the track was recorded with Jimmy McCulloch and Joe English.

Looks like Juber on lead...i guess Jimmy was long gone by then, even though he did the original lead guitar on the track.

This is merely Paul doing Elvis.
Great tune and yes, he was one of the best rock vocalists around.
Still has a great range, just the screaming / growling isn't what it once was.
Back to the Egg recorded shortly thereafter is a great Album with the line up you see in this vid.
