I played this piece for the Milwaukee Symphony competition. Great job! This is the tempo that I got up too. For some reason, it seems like you slowed down just a tad, but otherwise, awesome job!
@kva4591 I received an honorable mention, which meant that I got to play alongside the Milwaukee Symphony during one of their concerts. My friend played Keiko Abe's Prism Rhapsody in the competition, and he won the whole thing! I agree, it does sound great with an orchestra.
Hi - I'm pretty intimate with this music and I have to say you are getting a nice sound and seem to have one of the better interpretations of this musically than most others I've seen on Youtube - so congrats. There have been a couple of comments about the outer mallets so far - tell me please what grip are you using. It rather looks like cross grip rather than Burton grip - is this correct? To be clear, I mean that your inner mallets are the ones closest to the hand.

What mallets are you using? When I am playing this myself, I reach the top notes (G,A,B,C) and don't get the best sound.

You got kinda a problem with keeping the outer mallets steady....but it doesn't detract from the sound...
It also seems a little slow, but i know i couldn't even play it that fast. I think you've got talent! nice job

Thanks for your comment. I should work on keeping the outer mallets steady sometime...

I don't think this is too slow. I would say a little too fast if anything..
