  • @iphoneit No prob. Yeah its such a shame.

  • How do you export a finish track... i wanna export to a wav file and transfer to my computer or i itunes ... please get back to me... i enjoyed your tuturial it was very helpful

  • @ExoticLove88 Hey man. Glad to have helped! Watch my NS tutorial vid No. 6 "Nanosync". That covers the basics. If that doesnt clear things up: Set the loop markers to the start and finish of your track. Hit "manage". Hit "mixdown". In "region" hit the "+" button to select "song loop". Make sure "render tail" is checked and hit "mixdown".

That'll create a wav of your track. Then use Nanosync to transfer it to your computer. (See the vid I mentioned above)

Any probs just send me a msg. :-)

  • Thanks for the info.... Now how do you create parts to make an entire track? Intro, melody, breakdown, outro. etc etc....

  • @iphoneit No prob. If you mean parts as in different tracks for each sound.. then hit the top left menu button, choose a track (1-16), hold your finger down on your chosen one then select from the options that appear.

If on the other hand, you meant how do you actually write each section of an entire track.. then youre on your own there fella! ;-) (saying that, i might do a tutorial on general dancefloor track structure for say, dnb or breaks at some point) Peace!!!!

  • Dude, that was an awesome tutorial and as far as not having the "proper equipment" as you said, you did a better job with what you had than what people do when they have the high gear!

  • @piano25 hey, sorry its taken so long to reply. If you havent worked it already... go into the quantise menu and select the bottom right hand button under the swing % box. That'll quantise it in triplets and then you can tweak it with the % = & - buttons. Hope that helps (if it aint too late!).

  • Thanks for taking the time on this, just got Nanostudio tonight and will be using this as my starting point.

  • @ReallyBigFatLarry my pleasure mate.

  • Really Helpfull,But how do i get drum beats into the library?

  • @TheJFitzsimmons do you mean beats/hits made on a different computer that you want to use within NS? If so you need to use Nanosync which u can get from blipinteractive(dot)com. it lets you transfer files via wi-fi... hope that helps...?

  • i always wanted a music making app sorta like ableton on my iphone , would you highly recomend this app?

  • @txErIktx even with its limitations you will be blown away with whats possible on your phone! Id say the only thing its missing (but you can still get around it) is a dedicated audio track and even that is a possible feature in a future update. Buy it mate! you wont regret it! Easily the best electronic music making app out there! :-)

  • Thanks, it was very helpful.

  • @eloureirotubeyou nay problem! Cheers.

  • Thanks for the vid fella!

  • @todayisforme youre welcome!

  • I've not actually got this app but am considering buying it because I'm really into music and making my own tracks and everything. This video was still very helpful even if I don't have it, yet. One queston, can you import stuff that you've already recorded outside the program? For example I'd like to put my own vocals that I've recorded with stuff that I'd make on this...

    Cheers!

  • @HangingDreams hey, yeah you can do that. You need to download Nanosync from blipinteractive(dot)com. It lets you tranfer files over wifi. NS doesnt have audio tracks (yet) but you can load them up as samples through the drum pads or even through one of the 4 synth channels. :-)

  • @dekoy Okaaaaaaay, thanks very much. Helped a lot :)

  • Really helped!!

  • @znakebyte Thanks. Youre welcome!

  • thanks man!!

  • @stnkhank all good!

  • Thanks for the help!!!

  • @revelashaun68 nay problem!

  • thank you! great vid! aand one thing: which app is better: akai synthstation or nanostudio?! i have the synthstation app, i don't think it's too bad, but i'm afraid the nanostudio is better. so what do you think mr dekoy?

  • @omgkennyisliving Hey, to be honest i havent used synthstation. Ive watched a video on the synthstation25 controller and it looks cool. The only thing i didnt like was that it didnt charge the phone!

  • @dekoy it does charge the iphone/ipod, if you use it with this here:

    deejayladen(dot)com/de/Akai-Numark-Netzteil-6V-DC-1A(dot)html

  • @omgkennyisliving cheers.. thats more like it! Although im waiting on delivery of a Line 6 Midi Mobiliser i won so ill see how that goes first...

  • @dekoy i heard of this too. but this little cable/adapter thing is already 60€ or something...and on top of this, you need a midi keyboard, which is pretty expensive, too...so i think the synthstation25 is a gooooood thing :D and is this midi mobiliser compatible to the nanostudio?or only to this "midi memo app" they show in the video on the homepage? or do you just send the recorded midi to nanostudio or something?! how would you work with the nanostudio in combination with this mobiliser?

  • @omgkennyisliving yeah, its definitely pricey but ive got a midi keyboard so it'll work for me. It is compatible. As far as i know it just lets you use a full size keyboard instead of the virtual one thats in nanostudio.. Makes things a little easier when im at home.. Really need to start writing again! The winter has taken my inspiration! That and Battlefield BC2! ;-)

  • @dekoy yeah i just saw my epiano has midi in/out, too...so you just put the mobiliser into the iphone/ipod and into your midi keyboard and then nanostudio is already working with your keyboard?! so easy?

btw: why bc2 and not black ops? :D

  • @omgkennyisliving I think it is that easy.. although ill have a better answer when i get the bit of kit in the post! :-)

As for the bc2 thing.. i just prefer it over Call of Duty. It feels far more solid & you actually have to think! I find CoD way too arcadey. Black ops is just more of the same since CoDMW2... but hey, thats just my opinion! ;-)

  • @dekoy ok, i got this akai/numark charger now and it works as it should! i'm really happy about that because that's much more practical...soo how is the midi mobiliser?

  • @omgkennyisliving Glad to hear it! I havent recieved it yet.. still waiting on a confirmation email from the competition people. Did start writing a new track on NS today though! Slowly getting back into the swing of it after christmas!

  • Yes, yes thank you, very helpful. Any plans for a video about sampling? A basic tutorial would be very helpful, as there don't seem to be any on YouTube.

I once saw a friend import 32 seconds of a song onto the 16 pads of his MPC, with each pad being 2 seconds. I haven't been able a way to replicate except with a very labor intensive and 'm sure inefficient way. Any idea how I can do that?

  • @thefurryhelper cheers! Check out my last vid.. it covers sampling (briefly). I reckon u could replicate what ur friend did but ud probably have to cut up the parts of the song on ur desktop & then wifi them over to ur iDevice as im not sure what the length restrictions are for samples in nanostudio. Saying that, ive got a feeling it might be possible...resample maybe a bar of ur track at a time and then assign to the TRG pads...? It wouldnt necessarily be 2secs each but it'd be equal sections..

  • @dekoy

thanks for the reply. I ended up uploading the 10 second wav file and assigning it to a TRG pad. then i resampled it on pad 2, taking the first 2 seconds, resampled it on pad 3 using the next 2 seconds, etc, etc. Not the most efficient way, esp. since I had the entire song has an mp3, imported it to garagband, chopped it up smaller, exported as mp3, converted to wav using Switch, then synced over wifi. Gotta be a better way to sample songs, no? from my library

  • Very helpful video! Thanks a lot!!!

  • @HumanHarbor11 Glad to be of assistance!

  • why my drums is empty? someone plz help me T_T

  • @ThePoomkiku what do you mean empty? There are no samples loaded? No sounds when you hit the TRG pads?

  • @dekoy yeah, it says EMPTY above all 16 pads

  • @ThePoomkiku dude, have you tried hitting the "home" button (top left on the TRG screen)? That opens up the Bank options.. from there you can import & export sample banks. If you hit Import you should be taken to a list of drum kits that come with NS. Choose one and hit "import". Hope that helps...

  • I just bought the app and I found myself dumbstruck, as I've never used this type of programs before, but your tutorial cleared that up for me. Thanks a bunch! :D

  • @TheScandinavianOne my pleasure! ;-)

  • You didn't mention about exporting your song??

  • @majorghn yeah, i kinda cover it in my last video... what do you wanna know?

  • Great tutorial! just got nanostudio yesterday and not knowing anything (and I mean anything) about music I've already made myself a half decent dnb track, thanks man xD

  • @JTGanja no probs. Let me know if you post it!

  • great tutorial man! keep it up

  • @tracekillz Cheers! I will! ;-)

  • Awesome mate! Even this yank understood it - I thank you for your time!

  • @radrufdesign no worries! ;-)
