bcynical, I must disappoint you. Heaven is not for people, and it's certaintly not a reward for anything. Heaven is God's dwelling place. He desires to be with us and fulfills that desire by offering us His grace. Nothing in eternity or in time is about us. It's all Him. Those who accept His grace obtain the right to.. kneel before Him eternally and give Him glory, in His presence. Maybe those who don't accept grace will do the same, in another place. I don't know, and can only pray for them.

@bcynical I trust that if God loved the world so much that he sent Jesus not to condemn the world but to save it ( John 3v17) then God would achieve his desire. If God loves his creation, he will be a loving heavenly Father who welcomes the prodigals when they come before him in heaven. Jesus will be like in John 8v11, " Then neither do I condemn you . People would immediately see the real goodness of God and love Him. I believe a good, loving God would not let humans end up in a hell.

@zytigon Welcoming prodigals in heaven would make not one bit of sense. God sent His son Jesus so that we may be saved whilst on this earth, if only we would stop to listen and really hear His words. The point is to regret our actions whilst alive, so that we can avoid condemnation also whilst alive. When we die therefore we would know that although no-one is without sin, we tried to live life in a Christ like way.

God doesn't require us to be perfect but He requires that we at least try. The whole point of 'after' (heaven) is for those who have been diligently seeking God's face- that's the reward. Therefore to welcome people who neither accepted the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross or indeed even believe in His saving power in heaven would not only be senseless, but
