My question to DC is why blue? Harley Quin's colors were always red and black. They should never had changed becuase the color scheme was a good combination of fun and dark at the same time. I hate the new outfit!!!

I agree about the DC reboot most of all. they're trying too hard. The sad truth is, the only people who really buy there own comics anymore are already fans. What is this 'new audience' they're trying to attract?

The Harley I know was so lively and fun in her mania. She killed, killed for her love and god dammit, she enjoyed it. She's a little clown for Joker and looked good by his side. I don't see why they insist on doing away with the harlequin theme when that who she IS! Joker's harlequin.

You have very good points with, really, all of the costumes you have critiqued. The DC reboot looked like a lot of effort (or arguably no effort) for something not at all on Harley's style, or any style as a matter of fact. It is possible, though, considering that the costume was for a reboot, that the whole point was to change Harley's style and try to attract new readers to the comics. I am not saying that I agree on the path they have chosen for Harley, but that this is their reason for it.

There is nothing I can add about the reboot costume that you didn't put perfectly. Nothing's good about it and it's just a mess. I think the outcry about how terrible it's going to get it changed, they can't use that.

The owner of my LCS had to go to a meeting in Indy and he was told that most of the "new costumes" will not be the actual costumes used...so you can cross your fingers dear

Wicked vids. i think you missed out the (for some reason that is left unanswered) Mute Harley from the Brian Azzarello book 'Joker'. the fact that they made Harley a mute is just beyond me but what i like is that they kept the original style (cowl, mask, outfit) but they made it a bit more rippled and worn, just as the 'new' joker style seems to be now. Anyways, great vid, funny as fuck as always.

I agree change is good, but not when the character is progressively devolved & (not to rag on punks or goths or anime, but...) what's the deal with everything either going all dark & gloomy or being overly influenced by anime?!

Well, the hope is that they will listen. They did to an extent with Wonder Woman when they re-did her costume. The only universally disliked thing about that costume was the awful Hot Topic jacket, and they dumped it in three issues. Maybe if the fans are vocal enough here they'll give Harley a proper throwback to a decent costume.

I think the last decent Harley costume was the one in Arkham Asylum. It was risky but it worked. They're trying to make her more of a menacing villain I think but in the process they are losing the childlike personality we grew up with. Arkham Asylum got it right I think, it was a perfect blend of the childlike Harley and the demented Harley. Arkham City and the reboot don't look like the Harley I know at all.
