  • If you want to do this job clean, ya gotta take off everything. I think I had a little more trouble because everything was original and has never been disassembled before. I need to know if Bosch III injectors replace lucus design? I purchased Bosch III's from FIC and am waiting for them to get here but I found out My injectors are lucas design. My car is an 1988 Vette with aluminum heads.

  • @caddyboy84 yes, but after doing it for the first time you get used to it and you'll find out that it's pretty easy.

Bosch III are a real good upgrade, and FIC is just the best ! You can visit Corvetteforum com the tech section and do a search for FIC , you will never be wrong with them. Yes its a good replacement, but i chose later the older style injectors because of the clips which i like better. Sign in at Corvetteforum ! See ya there !

  • This is a lot of crap!! I just did this job today and it took me about 4 hours and I've been building cars for about 25yrs. This job is a big pain in the ass and none of this is easy to do. The e.g.r. has to come off, the gas keeps leaking from the feed line, the vacuum module has to come off the thermo-housing, the right runner and the egr has to come out to get the rail out.

  • @caddyboy84 Hi, why did this job took so long , this is a 2 hour video edited into a 10 minute segment, the injector swap is pretty easy once you get used to it, why remove the EGR Valve ? it does not affect the fuel rail , Why the gas keep leaking ? you have to depressure the system first, never touched the vacuum module, and yes both runners has to come out. What was the TPI care you were working on ? Pics if possible thanks !!!

  • good job! very useful..

  • you routed the one cable wrong from the throttle body to the transmission, just noticed that, it is supposed stay under plenum until it reaches the linkage, instead of coming out between the runners on the driver's side.

  • @bran20man It's possible but it worked well that way, i cannot remember i don't have that setup anymore

Thanks for the heads up !

  • @ 6:07 your pants are unzipped.

  • @spoolinomni to this day, they are still unzipped

  • The l98 shouldnt have a maf man

  • @srtgarret MAF Is not present in the 1990 model only

  • @srtgarret The L98 TPI had a MAF in the beginning, then switched to just MAP sensor...

  • @srtgarret only on 89 and earlier models!

  • Nice video... but you should include 305 TPI and LB9 in the tags because that engine uses the same fuel injection system. You'll get more hits on the video and help more people. :)

  • @Artyfil Thanks for the heads up ! Done !

  • Are those clips from the orignal factory set up or did they come with the new injectors?

  • @DJ80s Factory clips

  • the gaskets never come of that easily.

  • @ChevyTech Yes they do,but the video is edited

  • great video Calderone!!!

  • @corvettesRbetter Thanks !
