nice video, what is the y axis on the upper pannel? , it seems to me that the global motion is only when the curve is going down or up, does that mean that the shear is applied in two directions?
@bluebirdpattern The video came with the caption above when Science put out the paper so the Y-axis isn't properly explained. I agree, I think the upper part of the video is just about the direction the shear is applied in.
