I know who Aria is, and a little of her past. In ME1 after a few conversations with Wrex, he will tell you about an Asari Commando Merc that disappeared after a long drawn out fight. Aria is that Merc. If you ask Aria about her past, she will tell you that she was a Commando and also a Merc. She also says, and i quote "Sometimes you would rather disappear then kill someone important to you". Prohaps she was in love with Wrex, and disappeared so she wouldnt have to fight him again?

@mickDees69 Nah if you go back to Mass Effect 1 Wrex tells you about an Asari commando he befriended and later was hired to kill but she got away. She used the last words "better luck next time" to him. Aria uses this same catch phrase in Mass Effect 2 and leaves other clues that point to her being that Asari so if she survived a badass krogan battlemaster i'm sure she's a a tad tougher than your average Eclipse sister ;)
