  • Ah man gotta love the big block engines.

  • Sounds Nice.

  • Kinda reminds me of the "Blues Brothers." Especially the part where Belushi is puttin down the car Dan Aykroyd's character picks him up from prison in.

  • Now that was fast. Is there a parachute in the trunk? lol

  • I have the same car.

  • I have a 1978 Ford LTD 460 police Interceptor H.O with Super Cobra Jet Manifolds Ultra rare. I have had the needle buried quickly while surprising alot of Beemers and to the dismay of early musclecars and Plastic Pony Retro Cars. What these guys don't understand is that the highway patrol and RCMP used these cars to pursue and intercept the persuant. They had to handle well and get real fast real quick. Not a force to be reckoned with...do I hear an AMEN?

  • @heyiheardaboutthat

My car was faster than the regular Pursuit Cars. Its 1 of 4 PURSUIT SPECIALS and last one now known in existance!

this car was purchased NEW by the R.C.M.P from the Ford dealer and before it was used for Duty, it was modified by the dealers mechanic. Heads were removed and reworked, Bigger valves, higher lift cam, Stage 2 Shift Kit.

  • @heyiheardaboutthat Not a force to be reckoned with... At that speed, considering the sheer size and weight of the thing, it'll probably tear right through a bankvault. Nothing can stop it.

  • @heyiheardaboutthat amen brother

  • no shit man ! this gigantic car can go that fast, it`s like an asteroid passing by. the sound of it is amazing, i have to watch it again, and again. :D

  • @CHUUMPASS ive had it faster.. gotta take an updated vid now that I have differant mufflers on it.. The video taken here is with the old Police Mufflers on it still!

  • @WPGinterceptor oh wow, so then, i`m clearly looking forward to seeing the vid that shows you and that beautiful massive vehicle going even faster :) best greetings from germany to america :)

  • HOLY SHIT!!

    Like a damn boeing 747!

  • damn i won't do anything over 90 in mine. after 70 the steering wheel gets a little shake.

  • love the sound of gravity and air protesting at being forced out of the way. as she passes through.

  • @yamahonkawazuki

Actually the cars not moving... its pulling the ground under it! ;)

  • @WPGinterceptor i knew we had to improvise to keep mother nature/earth moving in apositive direction :)

  • sounds like a jet is passing

  • I NEVER tire of watching this vid! Love the turbulant noise of a car at top speed!

  • can she hit 150

  • @triedcobra

Was told it does, but ive never done it!

  • Yesterday i saw a two door LTD, from this seventies era. White colorer. It was easy to recognize among smaller cars.

  • FUUUUUUUUCK! WAS THAT A VIC OR A LAND ROCKET? I have an 85 ltd vic and love it. MOST COMFORTABLE CAR EVER.

  • @LifeUnderTheSwatter

Yep.. feels like shes riding on a cloud at that speed!

BUT when she hits 150MPH, the front end floats.. and boy, its the scariest thing youve ever felt! TRUST ME

  • @WPGinterceptor Sweet Ride ! I also have a 78 - and 77 - But weirdest interceptor i own is a 68 with

a factory 429 Cj engine --code correct - bringing that one back soon - finishing a solid black 65 custom

500 =" Chase Car" 2 door post with 427 power -single 4 v --will post soon as i install 4 wheel disk

Brake kit - and inproved suspension --car will have stock dog dish caps and wheels -- Now Back to

    the 78 - mine has 66 k original miles -- we balanced /blueprinted -engine --150 easy

  • @54blueflamesix if you got a 68, its more than likely a 428 PI which is basically same as Cobra jet.

  • @54blueflamesix if you got a 68, its more than likely a 428 PI which is basically same as Cobra jet. oh yeah, also got my hands on a 1970 Chrysler 440 Police :)

  • @54blueflamesix: One thing I've always wanted to do is hop up one of these '70s Fords and do a speed run with it. =)

  • @MiracleMile90 did it with a 77 marquis wiht a 460 in it. hell i could have strapped a gas station to its carb. bUT damn what fun

  • What a sleeper! Imagine driving down the road in your fart can Kia and seeing this pissed off LTD seconds away from abliterating your ass!!! I love your car man...

  • What a nasty monster :) Does it really 135 mph?

  • @AldebaranProspekt

    135 MPH and some :)

  • This car is the judge, i think. Rice rockets can run, but can't hide. I hate, when in my small car (wich i like really, and makes my days much comfortable) some other, bigger car, with ugly spoilers, Mr Important does dangerous overtakes, and forces me go faster than the limit. With a car like this LTD, i would catch them, and make them slow. Haha.

  • Holy Cannoli! Thanks for sharing the vid. But where did you ever find a stretch of highway long enough and straight enough to shoot this?

  • @jwcasciato What are you talking about.. She rockets from 60 miles an hour to well over a hundred in a matter of seconds.. dont need no long stretch!

Also, you cant see it but there is a curve in the highway about 1/8th of a mile back, otherwise i probably would of hit 140+ .. I just dropped my buddy off and told him to get me driving by LOL.

  • @WPGinterceptor I wasn't talking about the acceleration. That's no problem I'm sure. I was thinking about the safety factors: visibility and breaking distance needed for a full-size car at such high speeds. I don't think I'd want to try this with my 74 LTD on a winding or curving road. It would definitely have to be a good, long, straight run. Cool video though.

  • @jwcasciato

Shes got oversize brakes (but still doesnt like to stop), and police suspension... she rides like a cadillac at 100 MPH, even on our rough roads. Guess it helps too that i was a Professional Driver... guess I still am,, Part-time.

  • awsome!!

  • great car great motor what more can you ask for !!

  • I had one of these back in the day, would pass everything but a gas station.

  • Comment removed

  • Cool...what gear do you have in there?

    thanks

  • @jlbcampbell

    3.00-1

  • AWESOME!!!

what modifications contains it to get this out of a normal 460?

    i have a complete rebuilt, but stock `74 460.

    georgeous ride, i love it!!

    regards

  • @grauhst

Your best bet would be to Work on your heads.. port and polish. grind out that exhaust port.

Help it breath, Dual exhaust, intake... I could on and on... depends what you want it to do.

  • @grauhst A nice set of Cobra Jet/ Super Cobra Jet heads would work just fine.

  • @lander4545

exactly.. but he's asking about his stock 460...

  • @WPGinterceptor

    thanks for the answer

i already have dual exhaust, but the tailpipe makes a huge difference. some time ago we built a new tailpipe and when i push the pedal half the way, the tires chirps fast. with the stock engine and the heavy weight of the lincoln this is not possible..

maybe iam going to give him a edelbrock intake manifold. he already has a 700cfm edelbrock carb.

  • @grauhst

dont understand what your asking or trying to say?

  • @WPGinterceptor

iam sorry, my english isnt perfect ;)

    i will try to explain:

as we disconnected the tailpipes off my exhaust system, suddenly the car had a lot of power. this is a huge difference. you could feel, that the engine can breath better in this moment.

  • @WPGinterceptor Those heads will fit on his 460 and will make a huge difference.

  • Sounds like a jet plane lol

  • Sure don't want a blow out at that speed! The Connors office would be using a shovel to pick you up off the road!

  • @238Truth

This car rides like a cadillac at that speed! Police suspension.

And ive blown a tire at 90 MPH... didnt even notice if not for the smoke and car leaning in one direction!

  • Thats a unique car you got there man.Nice ride.Sounds good.

  • SWEET!
