  • There's not enough water in the Northern California to support the San Joaquin Valley's thrist. The water rights already belong to the North; the SJV's farmers are taking water that doesn't belong to them in the first place. The SJV's farmers have paid government officials to give them water allotments that are unrealistic. If California was to meet the water allotments, it would need at least four times the annual precipitation. It's a man-made drought, but the farmers are to blame.
