I have nothing against killing animals for food... but I cant see when in Christmas the markets have water tubs full of fishes that cant even move nor breathe. The law forbids killing the fish in the market, so the customers get their fish alive in plastic bag without water and kill it at their own home place half-dead from dehydratation... since I saw that I cant really look at these markets during christmas time

Before you start insulting japanese people, I'd suggest you look at other cultures in which the fishes are not even killed properly. A fish's nervous system is extremely simple..it is NOT a complex nervous system. They have no understanding of fear in the way of experience or identifying with a history via memory as they have virtually none. It may seem worse then it is...but some technique needs to be applied...this does beat the swat on the head method on this size fish...in my opinion.
