@Rilan11 I don't think you do want to say that. I am Mexican-American and I know what's over there. Sure, it's not as strict but the catch of it is your safety. Especially these days with the cartels at war. Many people dying you know...more than the war in Iraq and Afghanistan! I love Mexico but the US has more to offer. Long live the American dream!
@him3zz It's all right I just googled it. Gringo is Mexican slang for Americans. No gringo just means no Americans. As for Holla-back girl, A girl that is willing to be treated like a doormat or booty call. She is a girl that will allow guys to do whatever they want with her and will just wait for them to 'holla back' at them.
@phoenixkh93 You're wrong you know... Gringo originated in Spain. It was old spanish slang. You know how the spanish are white, right? Well, anytime a foreigner went to Spain for any reason, the Spanish would call foreigners(especially white foreigners) "gringos" because they couldn't distinguish themselfs from another europeen. So, any white man who didn't speak spanish(or with an accent) was a "gringo"(A.K.A White foreigner). But in today's society, it derogatory to white people(esp. americans
@phoenixkh93 ...The word has been changed throughout time though. It can now be offensive to white(esp. american) people. But, it's orgins are different. It use to mean foreigner, now it's a racist word. Kinda like saying NIGGER. But Nigger sounds a lot worse to me still. Capiche?
This song, to me, seems to be a role-reversal that addresses the issues associated with immigration. I couldn't help but think of all of the Mexican immigrants who cross the border into the States, and face similar discrimination that the "gringos" face in the song. It seems to portray how we gringos might be treated the same way if we were the ones immigrating to Mexico.
I really like the percussion in this song, how it starts off like crickets and the tune builds into it. Great song.

@phoenixkh93 What does, "I'm no holla-back girl," mean? No one will ever know.

someone should make an AMV to this - the piano bits at the start seem so much like something doing a sort of run-up and then taking off and flying.

Super intriguing/powerful lyrics, and great music, of course.
