  • you can see in the video that it is winter,(if you look at the mountaintops there is snow) so this cant even be the same day, week or month as the sechelt rapids at their strongest.sure makes me miss living there though!most BEAUTIFUL place i lived, i think, even though it was hard, we lived,boat access only,in a cabin we built ourselves(we were only about 19-20 yrs old) and winter got a little rough til we moved up to an abandoned INSULATED house, though it was 15 miles further from the road.

  • with all due respect- this is NOT full strength.full strength at the 'chuck, or sechelt rapids, is a 12 foot + WALL OF WATER!!!also, it takes place around june 21st- summer solstice. this looks more like slack tide.i lived up the Inlet for years in the '90s, for a little while i was a couple of km down from the 'chuck. theres about 70 miles or so of inlets, including the Narrows and Salmon Inlets. 200 BILLION gallons of water flows through on a 3m tide.the rapids are only ABOUT 100m across.
