The problem with the iMac is that it's form factor constrains the available graphics cards to discreet laptop graphics, so whilst you have a desktop CPU and a great screen, plenty of RAM, the graphical power is lacking. However this probably matters little to people who aren't bootcamping or playing games that run on OS X.

my G5 is obsolete. Apple will not repair it. Only 5 years old. This is Planned Obsolescence. A fundamental principal of market economics is the following: Nothing produced can be allowed to maintain a lifespan longer that what can be endured in order to continue a cyclical consumption. Apple should change their logo into a wallet.

It's been their latest design obsession as of late. Thinner computers tend to be lighter, and Apple seems to want to make their products thinner and lighter all the time.

But really, I think there's going to be a point where something becomes too thin. I think the MacBook Air is getting there. People don't want thinness so much as they want lightness.

There was infact two iMac G5's. There was the original production line, then Apple updated the line with more RAM etc and iSights. The two names are

iMac G5

iMac G5 with iSight
