The mac OS was and is obviously programmed differently than Windows. Doing tests on "what shuts down faster" doesn't do the hardware justice. I'm sure if you installed the mac OS on that Dell it would shut down as fast, if not, faster than it did on the iMac. If you wanna make a video on whats faster, then do a Windows vs Mac OS

To be honest, I do not like Microsoft's marketing. It is just not that enjoyable for Mac people. I am currently a windows person, but I am hoping that will change in the next few weeks :)

Though it is possible for a Mac to get a virus, it just is unlikely. But, as you remember, there was a virus a few months back on a illegal copy of iWork.

You cannot base your assumptions only on specs. OS8.5.1 is not heavy so obviously load faster. The newer computer will have more of a load to start up so of course its going to take longer. Why don't you run benchmark tests?

My Mac running 10.5.7 (the newest version at this moment) starts up at about the same time as that iMac in the video running 8.5.1. Though it does not shut down nearly as fast it still does so A LOT faster than my PC running Windows xp.
