I just got this shoe in orange for Christmas and have to say I fell in love with them from the first second I put them on. They are definitely the most comfortable shoes I've ever had, incredibly light, and just a perfect amount of cushion. I only have about ten miles on them so far, but I expect these to serve me very well.
Do yourself a favor if you're looking into minimalist shoes and start off with these. They're pretty much perfect.
Event, I have realized that life has become "routine."
Therefore [agreeing with the Oprah's Lifeclass #19] , I stepped out of the box & threw something into the mix. I put on a pair of New Balance Minimus. started running, and began training for the San Francisco Marathon 2012. Check out my video "Marathon Training"
I went from running in a Cushy Saucony trainer to these last spring and have not looked back. I am a mid-foot striker and these were perfect. I do 3 to 8 mile runs . I think NB has tweaked this model a bit.
Thanks to these shoes I am running my best in about 10 years. The shoes enables you to run natural. I hope these shoes are here to stay. I simply cannot go back to the structured type shoes. Be fit everyone!
Agree!!! these shoes are sooo beautiful to wear.. and you feel like "gliding", rather than the bulky feel to conventional/common track shoes with the heel.. i just bought it yesterday and these shoes are incredible :D @TheSmoothfellow
how does this compare with the (cross) training? I ordered those instead. I tried the running version in store and it felt nice. Not sure if its too different or drastic
@voidwareprohibited 4mm drop gives you a little better protection then a 0mm. Because you'll be midfoot and forefoot striking more on this type of shoe your feet and legs will fatigue faster. The 4mm drop gives you the ability to fall back on heel striking if you start to fatigue. Also, the forefoot is wide...
I am definitely excited about this shoe. The 4mm drop is exactly what I am looking for. A zero too extreme my feet on the roads and most road shoes seem to try and make me heel strike even though my foot doesn't want to. Can't wait!

As a "road shoe" is it meant for running on the streets/sidewalks? I noticed the original minimus's are apparently made for "trails"
Not sure which to buy at the moment!

Got those now, too.
Extremely comfortable and light.
By now they seem to sell them without insoles, so I fitted a silver/suede insole by myself. I am wondering how many miles they can do.
